This launch has been absolutely terrible for Warner Bros. Throw in those delayed/cancelled limited editions and fans have really taken a beating with this one.

At least the game is pretty good otherwise this might be a total failure for Rocksteady and Warner Bros.

To be fair, Rocksteady's versions (XboxOne/PS4) are apparently fantastic. If anything, they deserve the least ire, WB and Iron Galaxy deserve the blame.

Eh, I don't know if blame is the right word. Video game development isn't easy so we don't know where the problem stemmed from. Did WB give Iron Galaxy very little time to develop the port? Did Iron Galaxy underestimate the work it would require to port the game? Did RockSteady not develop a game that was easy to port from consoles to PC?

Development is complicated and messy and I for sure don't know the ins and outs, let alone know who to blame.

Games that are developed for the Next-Gen consoles use an x86 code base. Exactly like a PC. It's much easier than it used to be.

I've got an i7 @ 4 Ghz, 24 GB RAM, a GTX 980, and a 660 ti for a physx card. The game runs great for me maxed out at 1080p with 60 fps unlocked. When in doubt throw all the teraflops at the problem. Not bad for a free game. Batman was bundled along with Witcher 3 with my 980 purchase.

...the only thing I think is odd is that the textures go from low to normal in theoptions menu. Seems like there should be more options.

No PC currently exists that can play this game at a steady 60fps, and since SLI actually degrades performance, you can't use that option either. Even with a 980TI, if you turn of FPS monitoring you will see dips into the 20-30's. AMD users are seeing dips as low as 5-10fps.

Nvidia users have a bit less to worry about, it's much easier to notice a drop from 60fps to 10, then it is from 60 to 30.

lmao, the fact that reviews where embargoed until release date was a sure sign.

Sure sign of what? Embargoes that end on release day happen all the time and has nothing to do with the quality of the game. Thats not always the case but it's not a concrete thing you can point to and say "this game is probably shit or broken because we cant talk about it till its out".

True, but common sense applies most of the time. What's even worse is some Publishers will hold a launch day embargo, but will allow you to publish a review early if you reach a certain score. 9 out of 10 for example. This gives review sites an incentive to score a game higher than they previously might.

Having just upgraded to a 980 Ti graphics card, I feel compelled to replace my 24" 1080p monitor with a 1440p monitor. I have done some searching, but haven't found anything that has really sold me yet. A 1440p monitor with an IPS panel and G-SYNC would be my preference, but I'm open to other options.

Do you prefer image quality or fluid movement?

If you prefer image quality, avoid TN Panels. TN Panels are excellent at delivering high refresh rates like 144hz, at the cost of viewing angles and image quality.

The best panels imo use VA technology. This is a cross between TN and IPS. BenQ comes to mind as a company that currently uses VA technology.

This is probably confusing if you haven't done any research of the options. Hopefully this website can help you.

My last 2 monitors have been BenQ, with my latest one being the XL2420TX. I have never been thrilled with the viewing angles on that monitor, which has me leaning toward IPS now.

Those are their TN panels, and I agree, they are absolute garbage. VA and IPS are where it's at. Make sure you check the Monitor specs before buying.

Also, there are plenty of reports that GSYNC causes display flickering. I would be in no rush to use that first generation standard. I might wait for a revision.

This website does a great job at highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each tech.

The problem is, IPS or VA panels are usually more expensive. TN are far more common.

What a weird year for the PC. It used to be that consoles had the shoddy ports now it's the other way around. I don't know if some of the issues I heard should have been enough for them to take it down but they have obviously been getting enough complaints it makes some sense.

Hopefully it gets fixed soon. It's a fun game

Let's not forget that PC ports have been doing a relatively bang-up job for the past few years, and while the MKX and Arkham Knight situations are far from minor, they don't necessarily indicate a trend back to the horrible, awful PC ports we got in the beginning of the last console generation.

I couldn't agree more, I was really worried about GTA V being a steaming pile, but I think everyone was surprised with how good it turned out.

It's now completely gone for me. The price disappeared.

Yep, same. Can still buy that season pass though! I wonder, the game is current 40% on sale at GMG do you think I could buy a key and still redeem it on steam?

Most likely yes, all keys should still be available to redeem.
