Yeah, i did pull up the console, but nothing seemed off. As I mentioned, I want to check the network pane to see what happened there, but you can't see anything in that one after the fact, and I have yet to remember to open it before loading GB.

Oh, yeah: Firefox 87.0 on macOS Catalina. I have Privacy Badger and uBlock Origin installed, but i don't think those have anything to do with it, since it works when i press "Reload"

This has started happening to me all the time in Firefox. Like, I see this literally every day. Reloading the page fixes it, and after that it seems to work fine (presumably the CSS is in cache then). I wanted to capture what's happening in the "Network" web developer tool (presumably the CSS resource isn't loading the first time, i was thinking). But it only happens if I haven't visited Giant Bomb for, like, 12 hours or something, so I keep forgetting to open that pane. Clearing the Firefox cache doesn't make it happen again, i Have to literally wait. Anyway, you should fix it, it's annoying and it breaks your website :)

I currently have a bet going with some coworkers about which one I’m gonna be able to get my hands on first: a PS5 or a vaccine. Vaccine currently looking more likely.

This short article from Game Informer is really disturbing: https://www.gameinformer.com/2020/12/07/cyberpunk-2077-epileptic-psa

When "suiting up" for a BD, especially with Judy, V will be given a headset that is meant to onset the instance. The headset fits over both eyes and features a rapid onslaught of white and red blinking LEDs, much like the actual device neurologists use in real life to trigger a seizure when they need to trigger one for diagnosis purposes. If not modeled off of the IRL design, it's a very spot-on coincidence, and because of that this is one aspect that I would personally advise you to avoid altogether. When you notice the headset come into play, look away completely or close your eyes. This is a pattern of lights designed to trigger an epileptic episode and it very much did that in my own personal playthrough.

This seems to be the part of the game the article refers to (WARNING! EPILEPSY TRIGGER!): https://youtu.be/mCAhG52Fe50?t=137

I get that games by their very nature are dangerous to people with epilepsy (which is why there's that warning on every game and console), but this really seems like they've gone out of their way to create specific epilepsy triggers. Like, it's entirely conceivable that many players will find out they have it from playing this game.

I can't believe this was allowed to pass cert in this state, this seems outright dangerous. CDPR needs to fix this, and if they don't, I kinda think both Microsoft and Sony should pull it from their stores. This is just not ok.

Just a warning, the little of the online multiplayer I've played on the PS4 is not... stellar. It feels like playing Spelunky in mud.

I'm very seriously considering Stadia for this. If it looks significantly better than PS4 or Xbox (and it fucking better), that might be a good option, I dunno. I played Thumper on Stadia and it basically worked perfectly, and I'm curious to try a longer thing.

Imma wait for the smarty-pants Digital Foundry people to make the comparison though. If there's no significant graphical difference, my PS4 Pro is obviously the way to go.

The Few and the Proud - Beat the game on Commander+ difficulty without buying a Squad Size upgrade (0.8%)

It's not 100% clear that GB was part of this sale since corporate organizations can be weird. It seems likely but who knows.

One issue nobody has brought up here is what this means for GB West vs GB East. One of the main reasons that GB was able to maintain the split that it did was because CBS is a massive corporation with office space and IT resources etc... in both New York and San Francisco.

Will the new company want to maintain offices spread out that way? Maybe the CNET group is divided this way already and it doesn't make sense to consolidate operations, but there's at least a risk that a smaller company won't want major presences in 2 of the most expensive cities in the world.

The fact that everyone is working from home might make this less of an issue.
