Apparently, I make Bombcast references in my sleep.

So, after staying over at a friends house last night, I am the first one to wake up. I move around and trip over my friends leg and wake up everyone in the room. The next second they are telling me about how I was talking all last night, and at this moment, I have no idea what they are talking about. I ask them what I said and amoung the many downright bizarre things, two of the things I said were:

"I would like to order a medium pepperoni pizza." and this is from the pizza discussion in, I think, last weeks discussion, which I listened to earlier that day. The other thing was:

"I want to get the clean faces mod." This is the really coincidental one because, at the time, one of my friends was playing Skyrim on the PC and typing in all the console commands and he tried to engage in conversation with me when I said that because, for some reason, I talk in a perfectly coherent voice even though I was sleeping and he thought I was engaging in conversation about Skyrim with him.

Not, a bombcast reference, but I also at one point, got angry and asked: "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT NOISE?" on account of my friend, who is a heavy snorer, and when my other friend, who was still playing skyrim, told me it was *enter name here*, I felt really bad afterwards and sorry I got angry and fell back asleep. I said all of these things with my eyes closed, and my face in the "heavily sleeping" face. I don't remember any of this. I also made references to not wanting to go to basketball practice (which I haven't played since 8th grade), and there probably is more but I don't remember at this point. So yeah, weird night. Anyone else have some weird talking-while-sleeping stories or something at least somewhat related to share?

@Godlyawesomeguy: I've been told that I talk in my sleep, and I once awoke an entire cabin full of fellow campers with my snoring, oh, and I spin like a top until I wake up in the morning. Sleeping is probably the most exercise I get in a day.

My brother rhymes random shit when he sleeps. I heard him say "I need to go around the corner plenty to get the spaghetti." before.

Similarly, my brother says oddly poetic things in his sleep, whenever I would have to share a room with him during a family vacation or something, he would at somepoint sit up in his bed, say a nonsense sentence, and then collapse back down asleep, the first time I saw him do that it scared the hell out of me.

I have a tendency to mumble in my sleep, but I never say anything discernible.

Apparently I talk in my sleep too...a lot, so I'm told.

I don't think making references to something that sticks in your mind is odd. You obviously remember specific parts of bombcasts while awake, so why not while sleeping?

Hey I'll take sleep talking over sleep walking any day. Try waking up in your friend's little sister's bed.

Yikes.

When I was young, I was over at a friend's house for a sleepover birthday party, and at one point, one of the guys said, in his sleep, "Everybody, drop your utensils. We're about to arrive at turtle island."

I once screamed "FREEDOM!" in my sleep and punched a table and then went "Ow".
That resulted in my friends going around screaming "FREEDOM!" and punching me in the shoulder.

Could be worse. He could be in bed with you two too

I had a mate who sleep walks, once in Europe he stood at the end of my bed in a hotel room and just yelled shit. I thought he'd gone mad, so I told him to get the fuck back to bed and he did.

My little brother has night terrors. Does that count?

Just when I thought GiantBomb members couldn't get any creepier: This thread!

i talk in my sleep about the gman and combos.

Do you ever create episodes of the bombcast in your sleep? Often I can hear Jeff and Ryan and Vinny but usually not Brad talking about random stuff, but then I'll try to find that specific conversation and it's not there.

No, I don't. I didn't even dream last night, and this is the first time I've ever been told that I speak in coherent sentences while asleep. Although, I imagine, that would be kind of cool.

I talk in my sleep all the time. I do stupid shit too. I was at a cabin with 3 friends. So we all go to bed. Since it was my first time at the cabin, I have to sleep on the couch since there are only 3 beds. During the night one of the guys goes to use the outhouse and there I am on the couch chanting my name over and over very frantically. Friend says it was actually kind of creepy. Another time when we were camping I'm asleep and I start moaning in my sleep. Well according to them it was like I was laughing but it was a weird laugh. Kind of like a half laugh half cry. They said they all started laughing pretty loudly and were surprised that I didn't wake up.

As for the stupid stuff one night I fell asleep watching Star Trek TNG. I woke up in the middle of an episode and an alarm was going off. I jump out of bed and start looking around. I have no idea what is going on. The alarm is still sounding. I run over to my window and open it, somehow thinking that will stop it. It does. Well the alarm just so happened to end at the same time I opened the window. I go back to bed and instantly fall back asleep. It was only when I woke did I realize what I had done. Another time I woke up thinking that burrowing worms were coming from under my bed and were going to get into my brain so I grabbed a pair of jeans and put them over my pillow and fell back to sleep. I woke up lying on jeans thinking "What the....oh yeah...". I am so weird. I also get old hags pretty often. Those suck hard. Waking up fully coherent but you can't move or speak or anything for a good 20 seconds or so. I haven't gotten any visual stuff before but it's a pain in the ass.

Used to sleep walk, and still talk too. According to a friend, I once shouted "Up, up, AND AWAY!", and proceeded to sit all the way up, then fall back down in another position with an audible thud. Also once sleep-walked to the front door, opened it, and got all the way down to the driveway until my parents ran out and stopped me.

Edit: Also, according to my brother and one or two friends, I've held full-on conversations with them while I was out cold.

One time before I was born, my oldest brother was sleeping in a room with my family. Suddenly he lifted his hand in the air and said "Release the coconuts!" Apparently in his dream he was the human commander of monkeys and was defending them against enemies. The coconuts was the ammo of the catapults.

The only weird thing i've ever done while sleeping was, after hours of playing Guitar Hero, i wnet to sleep and my cousin said i didn't stop to move my fingers, like i was still playing the thing, and i ocasionally sung something, and cursed if i "made a mistake". And i've already got out of my room to sleep in the sofa.
My father is way worse. He already opened the door, closed it, and walked to the beach, to sleep there.

I have lucid dreams from time to time, and it's always creepy as all hell. I can sort of control what I do in those dreams, and I know that I'm dreaming. As I understand it, having those kinds of dreams is rare and I do not recommend it.

Other than that, I've been known to snore and my girlfriend has been known to push me out of bed because of it.

My fiancée is a massive sleep talker, often seeming to wake up and have coherent (usually semi-coherent) conversations before passing out and having no recollection afterwards.

My favourite occurrence of this was when we were playing Need for Speed on the PS2 (Underground, was it? Long time ago now), and she had fallen asleep while I bashed my head repeatedly against this really hard drift event towards the tail end of the game.

Anyway, I'm still going at it, getting more and more frustrated, when she suddenly rolls over eyes open and smiling, and says "Did you win the tea towel?"

"Did I win the what?"

"Did you win the tea towel?"

"You mean the race? No."

"Not the race," she said, getting more and more frustrated.

"honey, I don't know what you're saying."

"THE TEA TOWEL! DID YOU WIN THE FUCKING TEA TOWEL?!"

And so it went, until I eventually worked out that she was asleep, told her I had, in fact won the tea towel, and then proceeded to laugh hysterically and make fun of her about it for several years.

Apparently I swear a lot in my sleep.

My girlfriend told me that when she tried to wake me up at like 2am that I sat up apologized for having the TV to loud and then told her I would change the channel, but my personal favorite was when I was a bit younger we were camping in the field next to our house I apparently got out of the tent at some point walked across the field through a short wooded area and up a small embankment and slept in that field in the tall grass till like 7-8 the next morning till I heard my cousins calling for me good times.

Oh man, lucid dreams are terrible. It's a very, VERY weird sensation.

Probably a sign that you listen to too much GB.

The worst I've ever spoken in my sleep is an instance where I sat up in the middle of the night while a friend was staying over and spat out a ton of gibberish before falling directly back to sleep. Humans sleep weird, huh?

No Giant Bomb sleep-stuff, though. Which is odd, because I doubt most of you fall asleep to old episodes of the Bombcast like I prefer to do.

I fucking jinxed myself. Last night I had an old hag and some man in a suit was standing at the foot of my bed staring at me. I knew what was happening so it was more interesting than scary. Even if I closed and opened my eyes he'd still be there. It's such a weird feeling. Like you're totally awake but if you let yourself, you can fall back to sleep in an instant. It feels like you're awake and asleep at the same time almost. So damn strange. It lasted maybe 30-40 seconds. Pretty neat experience overall. It pisses all over my sleep schedule though because it happened at 4:30AM and I couldn't get back to sleep. I think what does it to me is that I am very good at recognizing when a nightmare is going to happen. As soon as I can see one starting to manifest I wake up instantly. About 80% of the time I'll be paralyzed when I wake up. That's what happened to me last night anyway. I don't know, best I could come up with. Sometimes I just wake up for no reason and I'm paralyzed.

About 15 years ago I had a long drawn out conversation with my sister over who was better, tails or knuckles whilst we were on holiday in Scotland. She didn't remember a thing about it the next day!
