  • Brilliant level design and wonderful orchestrated music, Nintendo has done it yet again all the while making Yoshi the most useful he has been since Super Mario World. Playing this game brings a smile to my face every single time.

  • Despite never finishing the first game, I still had a great time with Mass Effect 2. It's a great middle chapter and I cannot wait to see where Bioware takes Mass Effect 3, but I kind of want to finish the first game before then just so I can have Wrex in my party. Shepard.

  • Platforming at its finest. There were a lot of great downloadable games this year, but Super Meat Boy stands out for me as having some of the best level design and music I have seen from a downloadable title in quite some time.

  • Easily my most played game this year, just having 10 more characters has left me in the challenge and training modes for hours and hours. Now if only Dan had some decent links...

  • Holy fuck. What a crazy ass game. Every time I play this, I really feel like Platinum made exactly the game they set out to make.

  • Adding new instruments goes a long way to keep a tiring genre fresh and incredibly fun.

  • People 'round the world, join hands and start a ghost train. A ghost train.

  • A someone who played a unhealthy amount of Burnout: Paradise, it's easy to say I was excited when I heard Criterion was working on this game. It's easily my favorite Need for Speed game in quite some time. It sounds great and wet road looks so damn good.

  • Enslaved was a really nice surprise this year for me. An interesting plot, a very colorful world, and great voice work, Enslaved is certainly worth a look.

  • Easily my favorite game in the series, but having time travel doesn't hurt either. I am so happy matchstick puzzles have bit the dust.
