Just the once.  I usually don't have time to go through story games more than that.

Seems a little gimmicky.  I understand the thinking behind it, but it breaks the user's expectation of how a web page should work.  I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Rock on, brother.  Rock on.  Was it before or after Elvis died?

NPR just posted a story about a study published by the Journal of Adolescent Health that indicates that playing "cooperative video games" (Rock Band was mentioned by name) with their parents can improve their behavior.  Apparently, boys showed no improved regardless of what they played nor did girls playing by themselves.  Anybody here play games with their kids?  I know I used to watch my dad play games way back when (on the vic-20), but I played with my siblings more than with my parents (and I wasn't a girl).  I don't know if playing hours of Street Fighter II with my brother made me a better person.  But of course, that's not a cooperative game.  But if I ever do have kids, maybe I should get a Wii so we can play Super Mario Galaxy together or something.

Look out Terry Gross, we're coming for you!  You might have insightful interviews that cover everything from television to politics to science, but do you have Wii-Ware games?  Do you? DO YOU?

It is a scientific fact that the best people, ever, were born in 1977.

It took me a while to get into it, but after I got bored with Civ 5 I started a HOI3+Semper Fi (2.04b) game as Nationalist China.  After 2 or 3 tries, I'm holding the line against the Japanese and planning my assault to retake Beijing (Beiping in the game).  Once you get the hang of it, it's actually pretty easy to manage, but very, very deep.  After I finish this game and maybe one more I'll write a review for Giantbomb.  The Giantbomb community needs some serious strategy game love.

Meaningful procedural quests and NPC's that have something to do other than just walk around sounds *AMAZING*.  But I need to temper my expectations...

A game for the Vic-20 where you flew a helicopter around.  All the graphics were the Vic's alternate characters you could get by clicking alt (or ctrl or something else) plus a letter.  The C-64 had those too, I think.

The Italian minister of the economy seems to think so.  In today's Repubblica (Jan 6, 2011), minister of the economy Giulio Tremonti is quoted as having compared Europe's economic situation to a video game at the "New World, New Capitalism" conference.   "It's like living in a videogame." he said, "A monster appears, you fight it, you beat it, you relax and all of the sudden another monster pops up, stronger than the first."  What do you think?  Could other life situations be compared to videogame concepts?  Do you think it's interesting that this middle-aged Italian cabinet-level minister thought videogame foes was a relevant analogy?
