Walked into Walmart today and grabbed a copy. I was confused when the dude pulled a double thick case out, then I realized it was a double package. I guess Walmart Canada is giving away a free copy of Episodes from Liberty City with the game, which is neat.

The CE looks nice, but I'm trying to get out of the "video game statuette stuck in a corner of the spare room collecting dust until the cat chews it up (MK bookends) or knocks it over and smashes it (Bioshock Big Daddy)" scene.

Seems cool. I'm sure the game will be fun either way though. I'll probably get Max Payne 3 myself once it hits a more affordable price point.

EDIT: Also I bet James McCaffrey is feeling like this right now

That Claude figurine is more similar to Max Payne than the Max Payne figurine. And Max Payne looks more like Claude.

cool, i'll be getting my CE some time today when UPS decides to show up. i dont usually bite on CE but i had like $40 amazon credit so i grabbed this CE for grand total of $62 so cant complain. the max statue actually does look really cool though. cant wait to finally play this game.

@sins_of_mosin: There was a little bit of that. Those guys were egging us on, though. I asked to see the MP3 CE box, and then the guy behind the counter said "That's what this one looks like...but here's what the Diablo guys are getting!" and everyone was hooting and saying it was way better. Nothing serious, though. It was mostly just for fun.

How was there tension between the folks who wanted MP3 and those who wanted D3?  Did you mock them saying you will be playing all night and they'll be getting errors all night?  

Looks nice. 
It's a shame that the Collector's Edition of my most anticipated sequel of all time has nothing that I found interesting.

Might get the CE after work if it's there. Hell my local Walmart still has a halo reach legendary edition, uncharted 3 CE, and WoW cataclysm CE, so anything is possible here, can go to my local stores right now and get pretty much any CE I want.

Yeah, the CE looks sweet. I didn't pick it up, gaming budget is sadly tight right now, but oh well. Can't wait to start playing.

@CosmicBatman: I'm only on the second chapter, but so far it's good. If you're used to how the previous games controlled on consoles

before, it can take some getting used to. I'm kinda upset that left trigger is not shootdodge, nor can you set it to that. Otherwise though, the writing is superb and everything else seems pretty great.

Getting this tomorrow shipped from Amazon. Super hype.

@Demoskinos $100. Wouldn't pay that much if it wasn't Max Payne. Also helps that they're actually making this a limited edition- i.e. limited quantities available.

seems cool... I don't buy collector's editions of games, but that seems like a pretty descent one....

So I went to the midnight release of Max Payne 3 tonight. There was some tension between the fifteen Diablo 3 pre-orders and the like five of us there for MP3. Anyway, I had pre-ordered the collector's edition, so I got this:

That's the bullet key chain, Max Payne statuette and the game itself. It also came with a number of still life photos of bullet casings, pills and booze, as well as the multiplayer bonuses. So what do you guys think?
