In like Flynn. Fear my nerfed Sagat.

EDIT: I fail at reading. I'm still at work at 4pm. The "Night" part of Thursday Night Throwdown threw me off. I'll be on at night tonight though!

Yeah, it's me all right. Thanks for the kind words here -- it's flattering that people still remember my GameSpot work since it's been several years since I stopped doing it. I've limited my edits to my public page on Giant Bomb to fixing factual inaccuracies about my last job at EA, but in general it's not my business to try to change what people have to say about me. I can't help check the page from time to time to see how I'm doing, though, plus I visit the site often as a regular user trying to stay on top of what's worth playing.

I've been over at 2K Games since the beginning of September where I'm working as a producer. It's interesting work and since I'm a fan of 2K's approach to shooters (BioShock and The Darkness in particular), it's rewarding to get to pitch in at a place like that. It also meant I could settle back to northern California, which I consider home. Sometimes I miss writing about games and the people I used to work with but I still think I can do more on the development front in the long run. Though I guess it'll be a while yet before I can prove that.

Thanks for the well-wishes here. It means a lot.

Yeah, I started at 2K up in the Bay Area last week. I love some of 2K's games from over the years (BioShock, Mafia, The Darkness, Oblivion, Civ IV, and so on) so I was excited to get a chance to work there, especially since Northern California's been my home for most of my life. As a publisher, 2K takes the kinds of creative risks that I respect and admire, so I think we'll make a good match. In particular, I'm a big fan of the studio(s) formerly known as Irrational Games, and while I won't be working directly with them for now, it feels good to be associated.

For the forseeable future I'll be focused on an unannounced project that's right up my alley, and I'll be doing my best to help it along. Maybe I'll get to show it on Giant Bomb one of these months... you have no idea how I miss working with these guys sometimes, especially lately, but I've still got a long road ahead of me on the development front and feel like that's where I can do my best work in the right position and under the right circumstances. In other words I gotta keep paying my dues.

Thank you guys for the well-wishes. At GameSpot, I used to think our readers' memories were pretty short on average, and that typical review-score controversies or staff departures or other things of that nature tended to be forgotten about in six months flat. So I'm flattered you still remember my work considering it's been a little while now. Hopefully I haven't been wasting my time since I moved on to the development side of things.

I was listed in the special thanks, along with like a bazillion other people. I was pretty surprised to see that, though since GameSpot gave Serious Sam: The First Encounter its PC Game of the Year award in 2001, and I wrote the review, that's probably why. I had no direct contact with the Croteam guys apart from some some thank-you emails around the time of the award, and had nothing to do with the development of Serious Sam: The Second Encounter. I loved the game, though.

Also, while I'm setting the record straight, the description of me on this page, while flattering, is inaccurate; I tried to change it but my changes got stomped for some reason. I joined EA LA as an associate producer, and my current title is producer. After Command & Conquer 3 shipped, I worked on post-release support (i.e. content patches) for a number of months before starting work on Red Alert 3, which is currently in the later stages of development.
