Easily my favorite game. It was the first game to make me really question things. Question my life, the decisions I’d made, what things am I ignorant of that hold our society together, to question what really matters and even to question the very nature of digital information. Yes, I fully admit it was a load of pretentious twaddle. But it was also the first game to make me realise something very important, that I bloody love pretentious twaddle.

Fairly certain this was the first game to make me cry, not in frustration, but in moments of pure gut wrenching sadness. Until then I'd been rather ignorant of the idea that a game’s narrative could ever pull my heart strings, my mind was truly blown.

My first RTS. Sorta threw myself in at the deep end there, considering even by today's standards the original Cossacks is one of the most ludicrously hardcore RTSs out there.

My first RPG. Again, nearly drowned myself in the deep end on this one.

Come to think of it, along with Motorstorm for the PS3 and Wipeout Pure for the PSP, that means that my first game on every Sony console has been a racer, despite the fact I really don't like racing at all....... Dammit! now I have to buy a racing launch title for the NGP.

The first region coded game I ever imported. Oh the fun I had trying to get Swap Magic disks (an antiquated method of voiding region codes) to work on my PS2, nearly destroying the damm thing in the process. I eventually realised just buying an American console was much cheaper and safer in the long run.

The first (not free) game I ever played online as well as my first MMO. Yeah, I was kinda late to the whole online gaming scene for someone in my generation.

The first (and sadly not last) game in which I saw a dude's dong. Weird considering some incredibly tame sexual content was censored out of the English version.
