@bourbon_warrior: Just got the game and haven't played yet, but if your region's Aus/NZ and you're cool with a potentially... flawed neighbour, I might try and join.
I went full retard on this with a wheel, pedals, gear shift, TrackIR and Nvidia 3D. Stalling at the lights never felt so real! This game is legitimately fun though.
Grabbed a 3 day pass the other day, don't really have anyone to go with other than dragging my girlfriend along but I'd hate to miss this opportunity. I should stop lurking on here and PA so much, it'd be good to actually be social at PAX and see some of the periphery events that weekend (drinking).
Definitely wish it was sooner though, and a bummer knowing it's winter then.
The end credits to CoD: World at War have this really dumb opus that ranges from Russian choral to bad 'rock' tinged orchestral, and I believe there's some DnB thrown inexplicably in there. There's also some DnB riddims that build as you storm the Reichstag.
I've finally seen a few instances of it- a couple of limbs blown off, no heads popping though. And it's really infrequent... I wonder if the weapon damage threshold for triggering it is just too high for level-scaled enemies or something.
I did see a few sites mention Gearbox made some concessions to the violence to make sure it cleared the aforementioned countries. Not sure how true that is.
@emem: Wasn't sure if maybe Germany had lightened up on it some. We're finally getting the R18+ rating for games after years of ridiculous debate from uninformed detractors. Not sure when it actually takes effect though.
@emem: I feel your pain, from what I understand Germany is (or at least was) a lot more restrictive than here. The L4D2 censorship here was absurd and so arbitrary, especially when the first one was released uncensored. And at the time, Fallout 3 enabled far worse violent deeds on elderly civillians (though that game was censored for the word 'morphine' in Australia... sigh).
But I digress, as there's no/minimal censorship going on here.
