Stands the Test of Time
No other game brings you deeper into the Star Wars universe (when it was still cool).
The water pipes were annoying, but this is still the best SimCity (to date).
Amazing cartoon graphics and humor. Great Dynamix adventure.
The most fun I've ever had w/ an airplane sim.
Great graphic upgrade from the first game, with a much more involved story.
Best Arcade Game Ever
Captures the feel of the show. It wasn't my favorite arcade game, but I owned one in college -- so lots of memories.
This was the best 'Sega Scaler' arcade game. Difficult to find a decent version to play.
Best dual joystick shooter. Great co-op.
Greatest platformer ever that lived up to the insane hype around its release.
There will never be a better boxing game.
The 'Metal Gear' is the best weapon of the series.
The NES version still is the definitive version.
Great Disney platformer. One of the best on the NES.
My first experience with Mario, even though I always play as the Princess.
The colors and the giant dinosaur in the first level made this game stand out.
Best original video game pinball.
The prototype for Advance Wars. Played this endlessly on the Turbo Express (along with Devil's Crush).
The SNES version was ok, but the Windows release was an amazing use of the desktop. Each island had its own native window, and missiles were fired by dragging from one window to the other.
I love way the character moves in this game.
It's Sonic. Still holds up, even if the water stages suck.
Tied with DuckTales as best Disney game ever.
The best Ninja game ever.
Great co-op beat'em up. An early favorite of mine on the Genesis (until Turtles on SNES).
Nintendo still hasn't made a better 2D Mario. Yoshi was awesome, but the leap from 3 to this wasn't as great as from 2 to 3.
Mapped out the entire game on graph paper.
I have a soft spot for Sega's tetris clone.
Not as good as the first Turtles beat 'em up, but you can throw enemies at the screen!
Awesome overhead stages and music. More of these games, please.
Great use of Mode 7, and good launch title. I enjoyed the freedom in this game -- unusual at the time.
When I got this with the NEO-GEO, I didn't realize it was a Cabal clone. Still, its the best Cabal clone ever, even surpassing its inspiration.
My favorite baseball game. Still play it today on the Vita.
Fun beat 'em up. Was blown away when I first saw it. Later sequels improved on the mechanics, but I still like the atmosphere of the original.
Best racing game of all time -- only recently did we get a perfect home conversion on XBLA.
Great 'spiritual sequel' to Daytona. I owned the twin cab... difficult game to master.
I love the portrayal of Sherlock holmes in this game. Was a great showcase for my Turbo CD.
Best light gun game I've played -- home or arcade.
Odd quasi-3d game. I had a lot of fun with the level design and look of this game.
Played 4-player endlessly in college.
Still the best 3d platformer.
Short and sweet portable gaming bliss.
Hard as balls, but I love the concept of the force pod.
So much stuff blows up in this game. Super awesome.
I love casual driving games across short, exaggerated interpretations of the USA.
A crazy version of Crus'n set in california -- where I live!
I love the laid-back nature of this game.
The reason I still have my Dreamcast hooked up. Great, imaginative war games on the living room floor -- takes me back to my childhood.
This game, not Street Fighter 2, was my true introduction to Capcom fighting games.
Offspring and Pizza Hut... incredible.
Probably my most-played Dreamcast game.
Doom and Doom 2 blew me away when they first came out. Introduced me to local and wide area networking.
The first NFL game worth playing.
The pinnacle of the Burnout series. Loved the custom soundtrack option.
More games should be all boss battles.
Vice City has much more personality than Liberty City.
The mailman dream world is unforgettable.
Halo, especially co-op, brought me back into console gaming full time.
Never played the campaign... but perfect multiplayer.
The only game I really need for my GBA.
A game I felt ripped off Military Madness. Like Neutopia, it got all the essentials right.
The second-best Mega Man game.
This is how I imagined the 'Link to the Past' Link looked like in 3D.
It was a long ago, but this game was unbelievable at the time.
For a long time, I had no idea how to beat this game. Now, I can do it easily in 30 minutes. Mindless fun. Love the music. Love bombing jelly fish from a plane.
The peak of my interest in Guitar Hero.
This was my favorite COD. Lost interest in the series as it became more modern.
Even playing w/ bots is tons of fun.
The best multiplayer PC game I've played.
Incredible interpretation of Alice in Wonderland. Still creepy even today.
Great showcase for what XBLA offers.
The best version of pac-man to date.
Great mech game where you have to manage an 'energy grid' and command multiple mechs remotely. Obscure release at the time, and very slow-paced, but I still enjoy it.
Best Star Wars console game.
Second Best Star Wars console game.
A first person arcade fighter. You don't see this very often. The music / atmosphere is haunting. Great, mindless game to play while drunk/stoned with the music cranked and lights down.
Crazy concept that somehow works.
Great conversion of a groundbreaking racer. The flat-polygon look has a nice retro charm.
Take over the house! Very fun sim game.
Zen Pinball does not compare to real pinball, but it has its own charm.
Building castles is really, really cool.
I love racing around on the table top. Best racer on the NES, and translated well to PC and 16-bit systems too.
Played this like crazy on the Genesis.
My first 'god' game. Translated well on the Genesis, and was pretty fun once I figured out what I was doing.
These are the 'lost' episodes of the series. I would love a HD update.
This game was a preview for how all CD-ROM games would look in the 90s.
Better than DOOM as a single player experience. The Dark Trooper storyline was very well done.
I had a great deal of fun playing this game, even if my CD-ROM drive at the time could barely handle its tiny videos.
Real pinball is amazing. The developer of this game has serious quality control issues. Still, for the price and convenience, there's no better way to check out what real pinball has to offer.
The depth of this game set a new standard for sims.
Great atmospheric puzzle game.
The Genesis Batman showed how 16-bit could enhance the atmosphere.
The best spiderman game. You even have to take photos!
All Carmen Sandiego games were awesome. This one I played the most.
Fun, simple sub sim. They should all be streamlined this way.
Great fun, especially with two players. The environments and enemies in this game are very creative.
A great time killer on the Game Boy.
Blow up drug dealers with a bazooka!
This vertical shooter was the first, and is still the best vertical shooter I've played.
The NES version was a great licensed game.
