@ch13696: Thank you for posting Children of Bodom! That band is too awesome for most I guess but you and I are the only two to mention it so far. Seriously though for all metal fans reading this thread, don't overlook anything originating from Finland. Check out Bodom, Ensiferum, and Norther for sure.
Children of Bodom, Ensiferum, Darkest Hour, Skeleton Witch, Lamb of God, Bullet for my Valentine, Cancer Bats, Blackguard, Cradle of Filth, and Norther are the best bands I have seen live, and are amazing even on CD. I especially recommend Ensiferum. They play viking metal!
I know I may upset some of you for typing this, but I am really bored. I have been at work since 7:00am and it is now 3:00pm. I work in a call center; I haven't taken a single call all day. Usually I take calls for customer service dealing with people who bought thing off of different websites, and got a broken piece of garbage, and things like that. But today, nothing... Not a single call, just me sitting here alone in a corner looking at crazy things on the internet waiting for my 10 hour boredom fest to get over with. I hate this job and want to quit so bad I can smell it. Anyone else have a bad job they want to talk about?
I found the first three with considerable ease, but the last two monsters on the list are just too damn hard to find. Anyone have some hints to make it a little easier?
So I was sitting there at home, playing some games on my xbox 360, and got bored. I went back to the dashboard, and started looking through the themes I had available, and realized that most of them are all product placement. There's always a contest too like "Download this amazing dr pepper theme and you will get laid!" I immediately deleted anything with a brand name on it that wasn't a video game, and when the smoke cleared I was surprised that I had fallen for their schemes so easily. Anyone else have a similar issue?
Yeah maybe genre was a bad choice of words, but you see the point right? These motion controlled games are something that changed the way games are played. When something does that, I want to be blown away by it, not led to believe that it's awesome just to make someone some money. It works for some games, but overall I could care less about motion control, kinect, move or otherwise.
I have sometimes thought that it would be cool to see a completely new genre in video games, kind of like how I was stunned when I played my first turn based RPG. When you sit down and try to think of a new way to play a game that has never been done before, it's really hard. Now that technology is as advanced as it is, and everything just HAS to have motion controls in it, I wonder if this is the new genre I wasn't expecting. If that's the case, I would rather just stick to the old genres where my character can fight like a badass because he is not me, and I suck at fighting in real life. I'm talking about you motion fighter... What are some of your thoughts on motion control and how it's spreading through the industry, like a nasty fart in crowded room?
Perhaps it was Space Bar. I played it on a demo disc from PC gamer back in the mid 90's. Could also be grim fandango maybe? If you like those games a lot, and dont mind the dated graphics, I would recommend Sanitarium. That game was incredible.
Some games get really boring after the first play through, but I did get addicted to Demon's Souls like it was the crack of the gods... That game never gets old.
