PWG BOLA Night 3 was certainly a test of endurance. That's not to say the show was bad, quite the opposite, but that was the longest show I've watched in a very long time. I'm interested to see if they actually go with Zack Sabre Jr. beating Roddy for the title.

@bladededge: You may be on to something with the safety aspect but I always looked at it purely as a storytelling device; villain pulls out a weapon in a hardcore match, hero avoids the initial use of it (still leaving it in play), return later where it comes back and ironically bites the villain in the ass.

@demoskinos: Absolute garbage for the most part, tonight was alright all things considered but the weekly show is some early 90s New Generation of quality. The last few weeks have had barely anything happen on the shows and everything feels like some weird circle of hell where everything loops and nothing advances.

wow that's actually a pretty crazy surprise

Not really. I don't know how much of the dirt sheets you read, but there have been rumors of a Del Rio return for weeks now. WWE desperately needs Hispanic stars and the word is that they've been trying to get Del Rio or Mysterio back for at least the past month.

Regardless of SHEETZ, the dude is literally still AAA Mega Champion and top star and was probably still contracted with them in some regard. That was some Lex Luger showing up on Nitro shit and was definitely shocking.

I've watched all of the show and enjoyed it but I never got the insane amount of praise it's gotten. It's certainly a really good show with some great moments but I don't know if I'd go as far as calling it some all time great like I see thrown around a lot.

PWG BOLA Night 2 is just absolutely stellar. Top to bottom great show with awesome matches all the way through. Just seeing the insane variety in match style throughout was awesome, they went from a flippy comedy match with Jack Evans and Angelico, to a grappling and striking heavy deal with Hero/Thatcher, to an absolutely insane lucha tag match with the LU guys.

Apparently Tanahashi put up a stipulation for the Wrestle Kingdom main event; if he loses, he will never challenge for the title again and if he wins, he'll put the title on the line every single month in an..... open challenge.

Now, I super don't see him winning since it wouldn't make sense to keep this forever long feud going but the idea of Honma running out slapping his head for a world title shot is the greatest thing ever so I don't know what to feel.

Just got back from the most recent Smash Wrestling show, I enjoyed it about as much as I expected I did given the card (which is to say a pretty middling 'eh'). Some rapid fire thoughts because I wasn't into it enough to do some absurd 1000 word report like usual:

- Dalton Castle continues to be great and had a fun match against a guy who I swear was a clone of Batista named Franky the Mobster

- The Kingdom had the same match they always do, complete with Maria dancing on the apron to make the save. It was fine, Maria is very attractive.

- DREW GULAK IS LITERALLY THE GREATEST IN THE WORLD YOU GUYS. On top of being a god damned technical wizard, dude stole some fan's raffle tickets, placed a curse on them, went full Ric Flair and elbow dropped them, and actually pinned them for a three count and one of the biggest pops of the night.

- Bought a Chuck Taylor shirt before he retires or whatever. He was in the main event, it's weird seeing him wrestle a completely serious match but it's a good reminder that even without the comedy stuff, the guy's still a pretty good wrestler.

And.... that's it I guess. Oh well, this was kind of a filler show, next month is the anniversary show so hopefully Gargano is back to defend the title and also CERO MIEDO AND REAL DRAGON will be there so it'll probably be pretty good.
