You ever have one of those tracks in a game that really stuck with you since the first time you heard it, but despite however many sequels the game got they never brought the song back? Playing through Samurai Warriors 3, I was reminded of how much I missed the theme to the Battle of Yamazaki from the original game. Don't get me wrong; there's nothing wrong with the music in Samurai Warriors 3, but the Yamazaki theme just isn't the same. For me, it doesn't really instill the same sense of urgency. Depending on who you were playing as, you either had to help Nobunaga's traitor escape, or see him dead.
I really like the general feel of the song, as it's actually significantly darker and just in general has a feel that makes it stand out from the rest of the game's soundtrack. Maybe it's that dissonance that led Koei to not bring it back for the sequels, but in either case, I'd love to hear it brought back. For comparison's sake, here are the Yamazaki themes from Samurai Warriors 2 and 3.
It's just not the same, really.
