Do you still play PS2, XBOX, or Gamecube games?

I play my PS2 games on my PS3 all the time, but I'm wondering if any of you guys do the same. It's also great that you can PS2 games for dirt cheap now at Gamestop/EB Games... I just got Red Faction II for $4.99!!

So anyway, going back to my original question: do you guys still play PS2, XBOX, or Gamecube games, or have you "moved on" from that generation?

I still play PS2 games from time to time. I don't sell my games to pawn shops like game stop so my full collection is still intact. I only play them on my pc though. 480p doesn't do it for me.

I would if I owned any Xbox games...or more PS2/Gamecube games.

I'm in the middle of playing duke nukem forever..does that count?

I think I play more N64 games still than last gen games.   Nostalgia mainly, got this microcars game that I use to play a lot and it's pretty awesome.

Some of my favorite games are from that generation. Metroid Prime, Persona 3, Kingdom Hearts 2...new titles are great, but sometimes the older generations are just more enjoyable.

Before my PS3 YLOD on me awhile back ya. Still got 4-5 on the shelf I need to play.

I still play my PS2 very often. It's mostly because of Beatmania IIDX, but I was playing some Yakuza, SSX Tricky, Frequency,  and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect all within the past week.

Posted by ervonymous

I played PS2 games more than current gen games for a good 3 years after the 360 launched, now I use a PC 95% of the time. Most of my all time favorites are PS2 games though.

I still play my PS2 pretty regularly.

I played Persona 4 earlier today.

SSX Tricky and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect are two of my favourites as well!

Hell no.

I play a lot of SSX 3 and Tricky on ps2 these days, in any kind of such blind hope that the new one is just as good... :(

I play PSO like every few days on the NGC, and some others time to time.

I play games from that era and I've been known to play old Cube games on my Wii.  Xbox and PS2 died on me long ago though.

@ShadowSkill11

What do you use to emulate?
Posted by SuperfluousMoniker

I've still got every system I own which still works hooked up to my TV. I play N64 games with my little kid neighbor sometimes (he really likes Mario Tennis) and my PS2 still gets a decent amount of use.

I haven't in a couple months, but I definitely have in the past year. Still need to beat those Onimusha games and Kingdom Hearts 2. I never owned a Gamecube, and I've picked the Xbox library pretty clean. So mostly just PS2 stuff. There were a lot of great PS2 games and I didn't get the system until after the 360 launched.

I still play my n64 lol

hell yeah!  i still have a ton of ps2, xbox and gamecube games in my collection i have yet to go through.  that is no big deal for me, however, as i still have tons of old nes, snes, genesis, master system, turbo-grafx 16, etc. games that i've spent the past several years blazing through.  there are so many old games that i've been wanting to play over my 27 years that i'm trying my best to play, though i know i will never get to them all.  i just beat The Empire Strikes Back for the nes last night, in fact.  fun times.

I just played Mario Kart Double Dash yesterday with some homies.

Bought 4 games on the PS2 this week from CEX.co.uk, £2.50 the lot.  The Weakest Link, Wipeout Fusion, Largo Winch and Silpheed.  Was playing Wipeout 2 minutes before typing this.  I'm also playing Windwaker again.  The 360 has a shit lineup compared to either of those consoles.

Yes, I finished Shadow Hearts just last month.

In fact, I still like my PS2 better than any other console I own.

I'm in the middle of Dragon Quest VIII for the PS2, seriously that thing is like ten years old and still works perfectly..

Does Jade Empire run on a 360? That's the only old game I haven't finished and I don't know why....I even suffered through Brute Force.

Posted by Yanngc33

Not really... There was a time where I would play gamecube games on my Wii

ff10,9,8 / Persona 3fes and 4, metroid prime, pikmin since i have yet to ever beat it.. Super smash bros melee

@blacklabeldomm: It's kind of clunky on 360, but yeah it works.

OT: when 5 dollars buys two PS2 games that could be decent/have potential, then I am going to be playing PS2 games. In other words, yeah, always.

I've been spoiled by HD and wireless controllers. It's hard for me to go back in most cases. Also, most of the games I've missed out on last generation, are coming back in HD. I'm going to buy the Splinter Cell and Silent HIll collections this fall.

Posted by Jadeskye

I finished Persona 3: FES on my launch PS2 (somehow stills works!) only a couple months ago. And i have a sealed copy of persona 4 sitting here just waiting.

Posted by Posharoo

I just finished playing through Luigi's Mansion and have begun playing Pikmin for the first time. I purchased a bunch of ps2/gc games for dirt cheap over the last few years, mainly ones I always heard were great but never got around to playing. I try to play one of those every couple of months. I am considering tackling Final Fantasy 12 or Persona 3 next.

Posted by Vexxan

Yep, used the GC 2 days ago to play some Zelda OoT/MM and SSBM.

Posted by Gerhabio

I'm still going through back Game Cube catalogue... I can't believe I still haven't played Pikmin.

Posted by Redbullet685

Gamefly is shipping Indigo Prophecy to me, so I'd say yes.

Posted by Hockeymask27

I fire the old ps2 once and awhile to play gta or budokai 3.

My PS2 is just a Persona 3/4 machine at this point, and I don't even know where my Gamecube is.

Posted by JJWeatherman

I'm trying to find time to play through Jade Empire, so yes, I still play last-gen games.

Posted by kingzetta

Not this year

Posted by VincentVendetta

I just bought myself a new PS2 and Persona 3: FES!

Posted by Questionable

Yeah i just finished a 2nd playthrough of Valkyie Profile: Silmera
Ocasionally go back to play some Devil may cry 3
And i still have FFX-2 and Okami waiting for me in the shrink wrapper

for the past monsths atleast i play the PS2 more than my PS3, tthat will change when dark souls releases.

Posted by Jasta

I still play a lot of PS2 games, I mess around on my Gamecube from time to time.

Posted by bybeach

Only ps2 game I gots is Killer7, and yes I am thinking of firing it up, again.

Posted by dankempster

I frequently play old games. Not just from the PS2/Xbox/GameCube generation, but also games that pre-date those consoles. In fact, right now I'm playing through the Xbox version of Fable: The Lost Chapters. I don't find the antiquated graphics or mechanics in games like that to be much of a hurdle.

Posted by Nate

Nope, but I've been thinking of giving Shadows of the Colossus another whirl lately.  Just don't want to get the old PS2 out of the basement.  I sure wish my PS3 was backwards compatible  :(

Posted by RE_Player1

I have a PS2 hooked up to my TV at all with a Persona 4 disc in it. It has been that way for months and I expect it to be the same for many years.

Indeedly. Been catching up on the Jak series lately, and have... attempted... to get into the Legacy of Kain series. Soul Reaver 2 crashed during the opening cutscene and Blood Omen 2 is just fucking awful, not by the standards of today but just simply awful; I tried the finale, Defiance, too. It's a lil better than Omen 2, but I still didn't get very far...

It's weird why that series is so heralded when only like two out of the franchise of five are any good. Are Kain and Raziel really that engrossing as characters?

I've also recently been heading back into PS1 games too. Gone through both Fear Effect games just because, and also trekking through Crash Bandicoot 2. So surprised at how well it holds up. The controls are so smooth and responsive, and those levels were you're running away from Boulders/Mutant T-Virus infected Polar Bears are still awesome.
