So, I was playing Barbie And The Three Musketeers...

...when I accidentally the whole thing.

I have video of it happening too:

It's gross. I'm sorry.*

This video took longer than usual as all of the cutscenes from the game were taken straight from the movie of the same title, causing the video to be blocked worldwide. So, I had to recreate all of those scenes with hand puppets and After Effects so that it wouldn't be blocked again.

Oh, I also played FEZ. 64 cubes worth of FEZ. That's all over here in this convenient playlist: Hamst3r plays FEZ

FEZ was fantastic. Really top-notch all around with tons of variety and interesting ideas. Legit mind-benders, yo.

All that game playing nonsense aside, I watched both seasons of Twin Peaks. What the fuck was that? I like David Lynch movies. I don't like soap operas. But...I kind of liked David Lynch's soap opera.

I was not a fan of the music, but perhaps I'm predisposed to be extra picky about such things. Or maybe I just hate good music and I'm a horrible ogre.

While my feelings on the series as a whole are mixed, the best part about having watched Twin Peaks, is that I now recognize all the references to Twin Peaks in other things. All of the owls and lodge with red curtains stuff in FEZ, the entirety of Alan Wake, and my memories of the Deadly Premonition Endurance Run. They have all been taken to new levels in my mind. Fuck, dude.

I watched all of these fairly recently and they were like whoa and I was like whoa and it was like whoa:

  • eXistenZ
  • Departures
  • Django Unchained
  • Karate-Robo Zaborgar
  • Harikari
  • Tyrannosaur
  • ParaNorman
  • Perfect Blue
  • Looper
  • Amelie
  • Bedevilled

If you wanna hear music stuff, you should check out my previous blog.

Lastly, I've been making stupid Vine videos. Like, this one and this one.

I guess that's it, really. Bye now.

*no I'm not.

Your Fez playthrough was fantastic. I really enjoyed watching you figure out the really deep puzzles and ciphers. I got to feel that zeitgeist of a year ago all over again!

Man, the opening theme for twin peaks is the best. "That gum you like is going to come back into style:"

Loved the Barbie video lol. Need to watch the FEZ one still. Oh and Twin Peaks is awesome! But yeah, the music... "Youuuu and IIIIIIIII!"

This IS getting pretty funny. I'll continue watching it, and bookmark the video for later. Needs beer consumption.

Good job, though!

The horse being Bane was a bit of brilliance

Thank you.

The Bane horse sold me.

EDIT: Not enough Bane horse.

Edited by Hamst3r

@chavtheworld: The world could always use more Bane Horse.

Thanks, duders. :3

@hamst3r: Was there any more Bane Horse in the game? I could... make use of such footage.

Posted by Hamst3r

@chavtheworld: Unfortunately not. The horse had two lines in the entire game. The one in the video and one at the end where he says, "you did a great job."

A grossly underused character.

I was sold at "My Horse is Bane."

Hand puppets? I'm in.

Edited by ArbitraryWater

Well, now I expect all of your videos to have... high quality hand puppetry.

Have you tried stirring some chocolate in with your bullet/shell/knife smoothie? It REALLY compliments the buckshot well.

Edited by Video_Game_King

I'd ask why, but I've been thinking of playing Barbie Horse Adventures: Summer Camp (or whatever the PS2/Xbox one is that everybody hates). Clearly, we share the exact brand of crazy.

Posted by Hamst3r

@video_game_king: I'll have to add that to my super special list of games to get.

I was considering vodka and gasoline, but chocolate sounds good too.

I can't use all of my puppet show ideas at once, gotta save some for when I get my big break. Keep an ace up my sleeve, so to speak. That ace being hand puppets.

Yes, you are an ogre for not liking the Twin Peaks theme.

As for the show, I equate it to Heroes, in a way - there's a certain logic to the first season, but everything went out the window by the second. A shame, really - both TP and Heroes. There was plenty of potential; then they had to go fuck it up.

I was super drunk when I watched Perfect Blue. My friend who was sober and watching it with me didn't seem to appreciate it as much.

Did I enjoy it so much solely because I was inebriated or is it a legitimately good movie?

One more: Please tell me an sprite replacement for Alucard in SOTN exists. I want to slay Dracula as Barbie.

Posted by Hamst3r

@ravenlight: I think that Perfect Blue was a good movie. Completely bonkers and it's climax landing with a weird twitchy thud, sure, but still legitimately good.

Perfect Blue is great. Not perfect, but really tense.

I actually just 64-cube'd FEZ myself last week (without looking up so much as a hint!), so I think I'll watch your playthrough to see if the things that tripped me up caused you any trouble too. I'm sure it'll be good stuff as always, hamst3r.

You are a pretty could LPer. I always enjoy when you play a new game.
