2003's Game of the Year was nothing short of phenomenal. Easily one of the best Star Wars games.

Bethesda's Oblivion introduced the next-generation consoles to a true open world filled with beautiful locations and marvelous stories.

Blizzard's Diablo II was no doubt better than the original. The world of Tristram was filled with interesting characters and had a great combat system.

BioWare's Mass Effect raised the bar once more with branching conversations and a great TPS view. It was quite a leap but was worth the time invested once the game was done. Wonderful story that has me begging for more.

Sure, it's an MMORPG, but that does not mean I can't put it in the RPG list. There's a reason why this game is 15 million strong today. Blizzard's World of Warcraft raised the bar in the MMO world and introduced a new generation of RPG players to the world of Azeroth. Several MMOs tried to take the spotlight away but were proven to be short of a success. The world is filled with creatures that go from the cool to the ridiculous. With the second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, coming soon to game shelves, this titan will continue to be #1.
