1. Saints Row IV
Hands down the most fun you can have with a video game this year if not any year. It is gloriously stupid referential and proud of it there was no doubt in my mind from the first minute to the last Saints Row 4 is the Game of the Year.
2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
I'll be honest having been playing zelda games for going on 25 years now this is without a shadow of doubt in my mind the best one Nintendo has ever produced.
For what is essentially a pack in game for the PS4 I wasn't expecting much but the combination of incredible visuals pumping music and tight as hell gameplay Resogun earned a place on the GOTY list (and my first PS4 Plarinum).
4. Pikmin 3
While Pikmin 2 is hands down a better game Pikmin 3 deserves a spot on this list if only it took longer than 8 hours to 100% the game.
5. Dead Rising 3
This is my biggest surprise of the year, this is the game that essentially delivers on the promise of the original game almost 6 years ago. Combining the sense of humor and whimsey of the first game with crafting of the second and lets be honest finally making the game playable and fun is their biggest accomplishment and they did that in spades.
6. The Last of Us
What can be said about this game that hasn't been said before, it earns it's place on this list with great storytelling(not just for a game but storytelling in general), solid gameplay, and incredible characters. That and lets not forget that ending. It would be higher on the list if only it was more fun to play.
7. Grand Theft Auto V
Lets be honest this is going to be on most peoples top 10 lists for various reasons and for me I had a great time with it and had a some weird connections to the relationship between Michael and his son that Mirrored the realtionship I have with my father and wound up getting more out of this game than most. The only thing keeping this from being higher on the list is the lack of a PC or Next Gen version.
8. Risk of Rain
Being a late entry on this list Risk of Rain is a great 2D action Roguelike that just hit a cord with me like The Binding Of Isaac a few years ago.
9. Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan
A hardcore old school dungeon crawler that really bridges the gap between Old school flavor and play-ability.
10. Shin Megami Tensei IV
I'm a sucker for anything SMT related and having a great fantasy setting in a post modern setting is a great concept I wish more games used.
