Psygnosis where one of the studios deeply connected to my youth. Destruction Derby was always
able to heighten the mood through it's sheer hilariousity, I still have the voice of the announcer in
my head:"  Your car is about finished. TAKE it easyyy."

It's astonishing how much art, and with this videogames too, can do for you.  When talking with friends
of that time, it isn't:" Do you remember the years he battled cancer?", it is :" Do you remember his mad
skills at Destruction Derby? Those Need for Speed 2 Arcade races? Total Annihilition?"

We did so much more then sitting inside, playing games. But the memories are sparkling. I think that's
it with having  a great time. The moments are larger than the time you occupy. Ah well, now look at
grumpy old me, still something besides cynicism left in that old shell. :-)

Needs more garish EGA graphics.

Choose your graphics:

@jakob187: Obsidian is the greatest RPG maker still around. So your opinion is worthless.

They may even go into history as the RPG makers with the greatest unrealized potential.

I feel like I should buy the Humble Indie Bundle V....even though I already own every one of those games in some form.

I know what you mean. I have a growing urge to do so since last night. And I have a feeling, the longer  I wait,  the more I will actually donate.

Thank you duder. The possibility of a flat out answer didn't even cross my mind.
I'm afraid, even with the given clues, and your spoiler, I'm not able to complete the quest.
May as well be, that after eons of clicking I just lost patience shortly before I may have
randomly hit the right link. I hope this quest is not broken, like one or two others
I've stumbled about. Then again, I'm not that a sucker for completion. Sometimes
the old 'complete all side quests' cRpg mentality just surfaces again. :-)

Literally the worst quest set ever.

Cliche Creatures? My arse. I have literally never heard of two of the things on this list.
I stumbled about this quest by chance. I haven't looked at my quests in a while. Just had some time
while trying some czech beer and brewing up some chile. So it said, the easiest quest you haven't finished.
Now, it got me a headache pretty easy. If someone, with some memories on this is still alive. I wasn't able
to complete it. Or invest tons of time in it, to stumble about the right things by chance. Anyways, Cheers!

When Mass Effect is hard sci-fi, where does that put Heinlein, Gibson or Lem, you may wonder.

From what I understand, people are upset about the ending because:

- It gives no sense of closure to anything in the game

- It ignores all of your previous choices and essentially gives you one ending

- It forces characters to break from their personalities in a very contrived manner

- It raises numerous questions and creates serious plot holes

- It does not fit with the themes and ideas from the rest of the game and series

I don't think a lot of people would've minded a depressing ending or whatever, as long as it was presented well and provided closure. They just want a well produced ending, not necessarily a "happy" one.

So in a nutshell:

That describes it pretty well.

As for the ending, if it would have been a provoking ending, that would have been fine,

but it wasn't, and telling that it was, is a plain offence. There have been games, and

studios, that have proven, that you can make it work, and gamers will appreciate it.

Even in Bioware's history games can be found, that resemble this concept more.

I'm usually quiet open minded. I get carried away now and then, when I'm getting forced to drink some kool aid

mixed with semantics, that hide the core of things. I've been around, I love innovation, but many things that

are new, are no way near innovative. Or even that creative. My comment may have been provocative.

In it's core Mass Effect stays a linear shooter, with character stats, that's what RPGs are called

nowadays. That's why it is so successful. They are aiming for a low common denominator.

At some points, it is that low, that people recognize, their intelligence is being offended, and

that this is maybe not the direction at all, they wanted to go. Then again, games are in a process

of evolution too, and there haven't been that many generations since the first home computers.

We'll see what will happen in the future. More diversification perhaps. Maybe indie games and

some of the kickstarter projects are able to shift the minds of publishers, that they can

expect their audience to be smart, and able to bear some challenge, even within a casual

way of things. I'm older now too, I don't have the time, or don't want to spend it anymore,

for games I once loved. But it was great, that they existed, you were able to play them.

Ah, and you wouldn't believe how stupid some of the games are, that I like. ;)

I guess for a linear shooter, like Mass Effect 3, the ending's are alright.

The mediocre pseudo existent rpg elements foretell what you can expect of the end.

Just think of it like playing Doom, and your expectations will be adequate.

@Milkman:

InXile doesn't have to please a publisher this time. One that just may support a game

that has first person shooter mechanics, or the likes.

They have the rights for the sequel. Not as in Bard's Tale, where they only

the right to the name, and weren't allowed to use anything else from the game.

It is a game, that is developed with heartblood. Not just something to tread water.

Brian Fargo was honest about their games before, and that was reason I

wasn't interested. I was interested in the old school experience.

But after all, it's still everyone's own decision, if they

want to get the point, or not.
