I've been realizing for a while now that I have only paid attention to the podcast and very little of the video content here, since most of the new shows are of no interest. The in-person content made this place special, and now it's not special, and for reasons it does not seem that is going to change any time soon (if ever). That's a shame, but it means I should do what I have meant to do for a while now and cancel my sub.

Even if none of the new shows are of interest (and mostly that is the case for me, though Danny's new shows are a delight), I am more or less paying about $3 a month for the podcast, relaxed streams on Fridays, and some random quick looks and garage talk and such, and honestly that's ok.

I do hope Ryckert's new show is not wrestling related, because if so I'd just add it to the not interested pile.

Some not mentioned above (or I missed it if they were):

Grand Prix (old skool F1 action starring James Garner & Toshiro Mifune) - you get to see how Spa and Monza used to look!

Days of Thunder - based on loads and loads of real NASCAR stories, and it's kind of nuts what they did to get it made, like qualifying cars and running them in real NASCAR races - go watch The Golden Hour, a doc that aired recently on the making of Days of Thunder.

Also if you watch Le Mans, then you have to watch the companion documentary Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans. That movie had a real rocky road to getting made (like no script) which is partly why it seems like watching a race with a light sprinkling of plot. Loads of real race cars and drivers got used, and some got badly hurt. Also - do not trust Steve McQueen with a woman or your money, other than that, an interesting bloke to have a drink with for sure.

I can understand the appeal of the Horizon series, but I like serious motorsport cars and tracks and racing (just not so serious as going full sim like iRacing). I really do hope that they use that but do a fresh take on a career mode - but I share people's skepticism about that. So, I hope people do get another Horizon and enjoy it, but I will hold out hope for a breath of fresh FM air, whenever that is.

It worked fine until very recently, so I'm at a loss to understand what has changed (and on which end).
