just wondering, if i wanted to farm the 3(?) hunters past the door that you open with the crest of astoria does that break/make you unable to join the forest hunters covenant?
@heartlessomen: Yeah see, that's a lot slower than farming 5k souls and buying humanity, especially so on NG+ where you get more souls than you know what to do with. Too bad the merchants only have really limited stock of humanity...and i killed Patches.
Ok, i didn't kill him, he jumped off a cliff, ironically.
ah well i guess my question was more geared toward the fact that (at least in my case) i've had decent humanity drops and why would you buy the limited(?) amount of humanity from vendors when you could (potentially) get more from drops/or just killing enemies?
hmmm i guess i'm either lucky or....just had a randomly high drop rate. on the first character i made just farming the low level rats under the drake bridge i had gotten....oh idk 5 in maybe 8 hours out of 18 total play time?
to be fair though the second char i made....hasn't gotten any humanity to drop...but he did get weapons/items to drop more often...which is a shame cuz i effed up his stats really bad...and don't want to use him anymore.
and the third...my punchy cleric, i've played her for about 4 hours? and had maybe 2 or 3 humanity drop (1 from a rat, and 2 from undead soldiers in the parish areas).
curious, what would be the point of buying humanity? i generally find either i get enough through a few farming runs (1-2 humanity depending on what/where) or end up getting a couple to drop from random rats/undead...especially at 5-10k a pop why would you spend souls on humanity?
i bought the cestus (caestus as it is in-game) and got slightly disappointed when i saw my dmg drop from 150-180 (drake sword) to 30-50.
hahahahaaa....
Well, any vanilla weapon is going to disappoint you at the beginning of the game if you're using the drake sword.
Also, curse you, I might have to roll another alt. I have a 'fisting thief' character I like to make in RPGs. But I imagine blocking with a fist weapon isn't going to be very effective, and punching with a shield is going to look dumb...
true, true...drake sword is very nice early on. also, i totally encourage MOAR FISTING!....
Does this claw weapon that can be seen in the "first time I died..." trailer count as a fist weapon? I want to make a NG+ build with this weapon because it looks awesome!
yes it is a fist weapon! been looking forward to picking it up, i think it does slashing and scales to dex...also i think you get it in blighttown after joining the forest hunters.
it does however come with relatively low dmg according to the wiki...starts at 65 (the caestus is a 60 but scales like crap)
