@blacklabeldomm: The Civ games are turn based not real time. It's a subgenre of strategy games called 4X. And if your computer is an 09 it'll probably run civ. Grab the demo when it releases and you can find out for free.
Been going back to the chainsaw a lot since it can kill most normal sized enemies with a quick grab attack. Also the katana takes almost the whole life bar with a pounce attack. Since most of the enemies have increased health on hard being able to quickly isolate and kill before you can be swarmed under is key. Also judicious use of the moment of invulnerability when your block dashing can save your hide.
@SpiritOf: There's still an audience out there who dosen't want an mmo that can be soloed. They want difficulty and guildmates.
@Ladnar: Acctually Squares FFXIV north american site says the closed beta apps were closed as of August 16th. It goes on to say sign ups for the open beta will be starting "soon".
@Oni: I don't think everyone really understood what this game was. It's a brawler in the vein of Double Dragon (without the Z axis) I don't want to make assumptions about my fellow Bombers but if your to young to have played and loved DD back in the day and have no real frame of reference for that style of gameplay it's probably easy to look at it and go "What the Hell is this?"
Anyway, good game, uneven difficulty, liked it a lot, not for everyone.
@commandercup: Not every game is for everyone, and maybe the hype got your expectations too high. That being said I enjoyed it quite a bit. The combos are fluid and fun and I get a feeling of deep satisfaction from clearing a whole screen full of dudes without getting hit in return. I'm playing on hard now and that requires alot more timing and smart use of the block and dodge dash. And I still want to unlock all the alternate costumes. So I'm liking it. Course I also liked Streets of Rage back in the day so maybe that helps.
