E3 2010 Most Anticipated Games

Hexogen: E3 2010 Most Anticipated Games

Trying to limit this list to ten games.

List items

  • Definitely my most anticipated game from E3, unless Valve somehow acknowledges the existence of the next Half-Life before it ends. I loved the first Portal, and if they can take that and expand upon the mechanics the first one introduced, it could really be something special.

  • Hate on Treyarch all you want, but World at War proved (to me, at least) that Treyarch can make an okay Call of Duty game. And Modern Warfare 2 proved to me that Infinity Ward isn't the infallible developer I thought they were. So I'm through with hating Treyarch, and I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully they won't let me down.

  • I was originally pretty apathetic about this game. I thought the multiplayer focus would take away from the single player campaign, but the demo at the Ubisoft press conference sold me on it.

  • While I've never been a big fan of Gears' multiplayer, it was always a ton of fun to play the campaign split-screen with one of my friends. Unsurprisingly, what they've shown at E3 looks great, and assuming split-screen isn't eliminated I'll most likely pick it up.

  • I haven't played a tactical shooter in quite a while, I loves me some split-screen co-op, and what they've been showing at E3 looks pretty good, so this game is now on my radar.

  • Most of my excitement concerning this game is not due to actually seeing the game in action, but rather the fact that Criterion is developing it. Also, it invokes nostalgia for the old Hot Pursuit games in me, which helps too.

  • I'm not actually sure if I'll buy this game yet because I'm a huge pussy.
