That's the other appeal of playing it on PS3, my 46" TV destroys my monitor. If I can get used to the control on a gamepad then that's probably going to be the system I'll play it on.

As much as I love the fact that we're getting what looks to be a fantastic Mortal Kombat game I just can't bring myself to buy a fighting game these days (this is because I SUCK at them not because I don't like them).

I keep forgetting about the co-op somehow, which is pretty stupid as it's looking amazing. Hope a lot of people are available for it and it doesn't just die out quickly.
Oh and thanks, I rescued it. But it turns out, the cake was a lie afterall =("
Been wondering the same about the co-op since I'm not sure when I'll be getting around to it.

Cake is overrated, pie is much much better.

From the discussion on the fake outtakes of the Tested Podcast it sounds like the single player campaign runs about 8 hours. Not that anyone was talking about it on the Tested Podcast...

" @hexx462: Well, yeah they are all about mainstream. But I meant pre Wii. The mainstream video game player pre Wii is not what Nintendo was planning for with the Wii. They created the 'new mainstream' market. I guess I needed to pick my words more carefully though. I hate using 'hardcore'  and 'casual', but replace 'mainstream' with 'hardcore' in my original post and I think you'll know what I meant. "
Gotcha, makes sense to me now. I mean I guess there is an argument for their main console not being mainstream in the Gamecube era, but the fact that just about everyone's mom used to refer to every video game system as "The Nintendo" means they've been the definition of mainstream since the NES.

" At the same time, I also agree that Nintendo is probably going to be pushing Sony and MS to release info on consoles they're working on, assuming that they have at least started working on something. "
That's the way I see it. Basically the first shot will have been fired, now MS and Sony are going to have to  start getting the word out on what they're working on if they want to be seen as relevant. Though I think after the Wii taking the market share like it did both MS and Sony wouldn't dare announce their consoles without first knowing what Nintendo was up to.

Isn't Nintendo all about the mainstream route?

I think everyone is jumping all over you because your initial criticism of Portal reads like it was written by a spastic child and does a very poor job of backing up your opinions. Why not go into detail as to why it's so boring to you? Also you can't judge a game (or anything for that matter) based on memes and the internet running said memes into the ground. The game should exist in a bubble devoid of these memes, since it obviously didn't create them.

Also elaborate on why you don't think Portal 2 needs to exist. In fact what does "need to exist" even mean? Any video game sequel does not "need to exist" for that matter. Clearly you determined that there is no reason for a sequel, so please enlighten us.

Any time you toss out an opinion like this, at least try to be interesting or at least have some substance to your criticism, otherwise it just comes across as noise.

Braid for me. Had been waiting for it to go on sale, because I'm a cheap bastard.

I don't see how engaging trolls is necessarily constructive or interesting. Then again we are talking about IGN, where interesting is the last thing that such a rote and milquetoast website would try to be.
