@chrissedoff: dude, we're on a games forum, it's all silly. and if you're so grown up and mature about these things, why are you even getting involved? and how in the hell would you know who does or does not agree with me?
@HH: Back in the old days, characters' appearances would change between games of a series because of graphical differences. I feel like back then, people were grown up enough to deal with it and have fun anyway, but something has changed, apparently. I guess people would rather make a whiny nuisance of themselves to people who have nothing to do with their problem and than simply remake a character's face to look like it had in the old games.
from the beginning the trilogy was sold to players on the fact that they could play all three parts with the same character design (something that is KEY to a lot of rpg gamers),
part 3, then, for no good reason, simply could not accommodate said character design. How is it irrational and baseless to complain about that? Please, tell me, how?
And that's just one aspect that players felt let down by. you are way off the mark here, if you cannot see that these complaints are legitimate.
"There are valid criticisms to be sure, but most people aren't making them. I'm playing the odds."
So you decide to lump the legitimate complainers in with the people you think are copying them and call them all "sheeple"? real sound logic right there.
@HH: I'd argue the person who paid $60+ for something they purportedly hate is the one sucking it.
and your logic would be simplistic. what does money have to do with anything? do you like it because you paid money for it?
also... "purportedly" hate? are you having a hard time accepting the fact that it did not go down well? do you not accept that certain things about the game's execution alienated a lot of players in a big big way?
@Dad_Is_A_Zombie: Fuck that shit, don't let the hive-mind of internet sheeple make you feel bad for loving an amazing game. Everyone on the ME3 hate-train can suck it.
If i had to pick an overall favorite design it would be the Tower of Latria from Demon's Souls, but no way I would actually want to be there outside of a game.
A game-world I would gladly move to... Elder Scrolls' Tamriel, also I loved the world in Viking: Battle for Asgard.
I did briefly look into herbalism as a hobby after picking nine million flowers in Oblivion, but that shit is locked down tight, it's basically pharmacology, which you need degrees and a license to practice, and there are laws against doing it for fun.
i cannot be bothered. i replayed ME 1 & 2 right before 3 came out with my main shep, only to have no face import available in the new game, and then only broken face import available, so i haven't finished the story with her at all, and why bother anyway - the romance elements are so flimsy in 3 for one thing, plus the game is too damn easy with the import bonuses they decided to give, so if I do replay 3 it will be with a brand new character with no history, anyway the point is there is no more money going their way full stop.
i loved the gameplay, but i can't help feeling the fully voiced thing marked the beginning of the end for me.
picture sitting down to a new tabletop roleplaying game:
me- this looks awesome.
gm- okay let's get started.
me- wait don't i have to roll a character first?
gm- no, you have to be this really annoying simpleton guy who just overstates the obvious constantly and acts like a faggot or a douche, depending on which way you want to go.
me- you're kidding.
gm- nope.
Could you please tone down the homophobia? It's not appreciated here at all.
