Let me put this as nicely as I can: both sides of this argument are dumb.

Some people cannot afford to buy unused games. Nobody (before Steam sales, anyway) could *ever* afford to buy unused games all the time. There is nothing wrong with these people.

However, you should not be going into Gamestop for any reason. You should be paying half (or getting double for your sales) on the Internet. You should be paid for your sales in real money, not store credit, and you should not be harassed about pre-orders and membership clubs.

Cut out the middle-man.

The whole "Customer Loyalty Test" was always going to be a hideous, noisome gimmick, even if they shipped the game: "If enough of you don't buy the incomplete demo, we'll cancel the game, so beg all your friends! It's all up to you!" We're your fucking customers, assholes. Finish your product and ship your game and we'll decide whether to pay for it.

That they actually did cancel the thing is totally outrageous. I (like a lot of commenters) don't quite "get" people who are attached to Mega Man Legends, but they do exist. My brother is in conniptions. They're not quite the same demographic as the old Mega Man players and people who loved Mega Man 9 (that would be me), but they're loyal and MML seems to have been a legit "thing" after most of us stopped paying attention 10 minutes after it came out.

Capcom deserves every cubic centimeter of grief, and considerably more than that small community can likely generate. Then again, it's Capcom. If they had shipped the game, probably half of it would have been locked behind a 47KB piece of DLC costing $10.

America's life expectancy is lower than "other countries" because it's ethnically diverse and those countries it's compared to are genetically homogeneous nations constituted of longer lived genetic backgrounds, generally White or East Asian. It also has more violent crime in its cities, and much more advanced neonatal care in its hospitals. Paradoxically this last bit pushes down on the life expectancy and pushes up the infant mortality rate: premature births resulting in fatality are reported as miscarriages in most countries; in the US they are put in intensive care and those that do not survive are recorded as fatalities.

As for the US system being "all about money"...well, yes. That's kind of the point. Individual acts of charity notwithstanding, nobody does anything on a daily basis, but for money. Anyone who's telling you different is exploiting your naivete. This is not an American phenomenon, though awareness of it sometimes seems to be.  Roughly 5/6ths of Americans have health insurance, and the lion's share of the other 6th are in their 20s. The remainder have access to either limited or very expensive care (depending on what they have and are willing to spend). So that, to the original poster, is part of the reason most of them are rejecting it in polls.

The other part of the reason is that the greedy American health care is, not coincidentally, the best in the world, and the only reason that distinction is even arguable is because the US exports its vast array of medical advances (which doesn't bode well for medical science if the US health system becomes more like the prototypical European nation). This is why Americans cross into Canada when they need free health care, and Canadians with money run to the US when they need top-shelf or prompt health care.

It's less impressive than it looks.

Due to killstreak bonuses (helicopters, harriers, UAV drones), there's always a very small "middle class" in Modern Warfare. The people who are significantly above average get their kills inflated to godlike (or Ritalin-patient-like, anyway) levels by the killstreak "helpers," while your average player will finish with more deaths than kills due to the handicap of being stalked by a gunship while rarely earning one himself. And of course, truly poor players can return '08 Detroit Lions-like results of impressive futility.

For a more succinct explanation, consult the Book of Luke 19:26. And meanwhile be aware of the separating effect and don't get frustrated or you'll drive yourself crazy.

You're playing a game called "Call of Duty" and complaining about patriotism.

Hint: It's not called "Call of Duty" out of some Hobbesian assertion that it's the inescapable destiny of man to inflict totally f-ing awesome detonations on each others' faces.

And yes, this game does break the COD mold somewhat...which just makes the complaints even more absurd.

I'd say you guys are just Wii-sensitive.

The Greater Fanboy War (360 vs PS3) has people saying things like this all the time. Stuff like "too bad you have to install it for 20 minutes on your $599 USD George Foreman Grill with crappy online" or "I'd play Halo if I didn't have to give money to M$ and pay for online".

The "No HD" tag just happens to be the oversimplified put-down applied by both of those consoles' fanboys to the Wii. I'd rather have HD than SD, but I'd sure as shit would rather have Muramasa than either of those two generic choices. If Nintendo had been cutting prices all this time, I might pick a Wii up specfiically FOR Muramasa, which would certainly be an odd feeling given how many consoles I bought for Mario and Zelda as a kid.

I remember last year, I was Christmas shopping at Best Buy. The lady behind me on her cell phone was screaming at her son that the store didn't have "Call of Duty 5."

So yeah, they should probably keep it the same. Call it "CALL OF DUTY 5 OR 6 (FOR NOW) '09 AND MODERN WARFARE TOO"

Starcraft Ghost? The game's already playable and was less than 2 months from release.

I hope they use the opportunity to vary the levels (or "rooms," anyway). That really seemed like the possible weak point of the game from what I could tell. All the footage I've seen has shown the same basic concept. It would be nice if they put in a couple memorable gimmicks.

People should remember though that this delay is only giving them 2-3 more months. It's not like they can blow the thing up and start over.

Good on you for not doing any of the "fake news" things. That shit got old years ago, and now it just clashes with the real news from the knucklehead companies who insist on making announcements today and yesterday.

Number 8 would have been awesome though.

Do you want to play? I am no noob friend, been playing SF since as long as I was a kid. I went to my friends house this weekend and murdered everyone that step up. I can only get comp online, if thats what you call a noob, you are a dumbass.

I think he was being sarcastic.  Also, he knew the answer to your question - it's not rhetorical, you "feel" like he takes less damage because he does.

Part of that factors into the "tier" thing, but you shouldn't worry about that too much. You'll get far better results out of any character you're really comfortable with then you will picking a high tier char (unless you're in that worldwide elite that reads the game as an algebraic equation). If it's Sagat, so be it. If it's not, just play who you're good at. You're not the first person to come to the conclusion that more life = good, to judge by the number of Kens who have graduated into Sagats.

EDIT: Or just do both. I main Sakura (pity me) and completely suck at M. Bison, but when I was going for the Xbox 360 ranked match achievement I just picked him and spammed his special sweep-slide in between low blocks. It didn't take long to run into 5 straight people who had absolutely no idea what to do and I got the achievement.
