Ladies and Gentlemen allow me to re-introduce myself, my name is

Hello fellow GiantBombers and anybody else that happens to stumble onto this blog for whatever reason, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Adam and I am a fairly avid gamer and lover of GiantBomb and the community that surrounds it. I have been a member of GiantBomb ever since it's inception and was following the exploits and shenanigans of Jeff Gerstmann and Ryan Davis during their short stent known as the Arrow Pointing Down podcast/blog site and before then I was following them as well as the rest of the GB crew at Gamespot. Needless to say, I have been a fan of their work for quite some time. Now this isn't my first blog on this site but it is the start of my more involved interest and contributions to the GiantBomb name. So this being the first of many blogs, I decided I would make it easy and simply introduce myself (or re-introduce myself as the case may be) to the GiantBomb community in hopes of gaining some constructive criticism and perhaps even building some relationships amongst my fellow bombers.

So where to begin? Well I guess the first thing to do would be to explain a little more about myself and where I've grown up.  As I said before, my name is Adam. I am 24 years old (soon to be 25) and have been born and raised in Colorado, USA. I currently live in Aurora, Colorado and work in Downtown Denver as a Security Officer. I graduated from Colorado State University in the summer of 2009 with my Bachelors in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. My dream job is actually a career that doesn't really use my degree in that I want to become a firefighter but I decided that was what I wanted to do during my Senior year of College so I wasn't about to change majors and go through another 3 years of school and pay the school god knows however much more money so I finished with the degree that I had started with. I was originally intending on becoming a member of the Police in some fashion. Whether it be Police, K-9, Swat, FBI, CIA, DIA, Air Marshall, what have you and part of me still wants to do that. I have been applying for the past few years for all the careers listed above and a many more that I am honestly too lazy to list. I have been through the testing process and been placed on the prospective employment list (PEL) multiple times however, I was not chosen for whatever reason. I will continue to pursue all of these career fields until I make it in because it is very important to me to feel good about the work that I do and I've always wanted a career where I could help others.  I have an AMAZING girlfriend named Emily and I am along with being a video game player, an avid snowboarder (going on 4 years now), hockey player (been playing for 18 years), and someone who enjoys just being retarded from time to time (all my life). I am very easy going, light hearted person and definitely don't take myself too seriously unless the situation calls for it. I listen to any kind of music (literally any) from Death Metal to Classical Jazz and everything in between.

Being that this is a Video Game website, I should probably talk about that a little bit here. I have been playing games since I was around 3 years old. My first system was a NES back in 1989 and I loved it. As I grew older I started getting into more sophisticated systems and games like the SNES, the Playstation and so on. I have had more systems and owned and played more games than I could possibly remember let alone list. Lets just say, ever since I jumped on my first goomba and shot my first duck, I have been hooked and if things keep going the way they are, it doesn't seem like I show any signs of slowing down in my enthusiasm and love of all things games.  I currently own a Xbox360, PS3, Wii, DS and PC.  I try to play every genre of game that is available or at least try them out. The genres I tend to gravitate to the most and don't ever seem to get tired of are Racing games and FPS games. I'm not big on Sim games like, well...the Sims, or Farmville or anything like that but I'm always willing to give it a try. I don't think that I could ever name my favorite game or even my top 5 or top 10 games because there are so many and they are all fantastic in their own way.

This is just the start of my series of blogs and I hope that my fellow members will support me in my ventures as this is something that is honestly quite new to me still and hopefully we can play some games together as well. Until next time.

Cheers,
Adam

For some reason, I expected this blog to begin with something along the lines of...

'Ahem.. excuse me! Can I have the attention of the class for one second? Hi kids! Do you like violence?..'

That's how my physics teacher began class that one year! He then taught us the exact friction coefficient between steel and meat.

Sorry, but we're not taking any new job applications right now.

What about delving into the rich, rewarding genre of rape simulation games? That'd be a hell of a blog, I think that's the only genre you haven't touched on.

Hello (Blog Post) nice to meet you.

@HS21 While that sounds like it would be an interesting ride, I think that I will pass on that one. Plus I don't think my MacBook has the power to run those games at their max which let's be honest, would be the only way to play those games
