Why? "
Because the "*Hero" name is still a bigger commercial draw than Rock Band and Harmonix is the only company left doing serious work in that area. Until they announce that they're shutting Rock Band down later this year or next year, obviously.

The real question is if Torchlight III will hit before Diablo III. Signs point to yes.

I'll be doing the same thing that I did with Fallout 3: wait until the GOTY edition comes out next fall and drops to $30 so I can pick up all of the DLC cheap and still be able to resell it once I put the game to bed. The base New Vegas game should easily last me that long.

" Why do people continue to complain about content like this being on the disc? If they're going to charge you for it either way isn't it better to be on the disc when possible (like when it's finished before the game goes to press)?  You're not gaining any value by having the data delivered separately. You're also not losing any value by it being on the disc if you don't pay to unlock it. In neither the case of the game, nor the additional content, is the value proposition changed by altering the delivery mechanism. "
I completely understand your logic, but the part that upsets people isn't a value thing, it's the fact that they paid for the disk once when they bought the game, then they're forced to make more purchases to unlock what's on the disk. While no different financially, it's the feeling of paying for something twice. "
Right, which is absurd. Sadly most of this complaining (not the anti-day-one-DLC crowd, obviously) would go away if publishers started wasting everyone's bandwidth and padding out the file size on the unlock files.

Or maybe I'd feel completely differently if there had ever been one of these unlocks in which I personally had an interest.

Why does everyone want a second analog nub on the PSP so badly? The one that the PSP had is already all but unusable, double that and it'd be practically impossible to even hold onto the thing while playing!

" As much as I love DC I won't be playing this one.  $15 is just too much for me. I hate how they teased people about making this one Free4Play.  "
Don't worry, it'll be free-to-play soon enough.
