UPGRADES AVAILABLE: Nintendo GameCube and Gameboy Player

In my quest to get through all the games listed in the book "1001 Videogames you must play before you die!" there was always going to be the need for me to get hold of certain pieces of hardware that I don't have. I decided to make the first a Nintendo GameCube for two reasons. Firstly, its not so old that I will run a high risk of it not working, and secondly I've never actually played on a GameCube before! When the GameCube came out I had just built my first computer and was high up on my  "PC Gaming is the best!" horse, and all of my friends who were console gamers were loyal Playstation users.

Anyway I found a boxed one on Amazon. I think I'll try and get all the consoles I need boxed where ever possible.

The stand alone GameCubes I could find were actually more expensive then this one so I got the Gameboy Player as an added bonus. It'll also be nice to not have to get hold of a GBA. Admittedly that wouldn't be too hard or expensive but  one less cost added to this project isn't going to hurt ;)

Everything works and thanks to a SCART to HDMI box I can hook it straight up to my PC screen. I defiantly need to find a better place for it though so for the moment its all back in the box. My third party, 128mb memory card showed up today which I had forgotten that I would need. I also found this in the box for the Gameboy player box.

And the code still worked surprisingly :)

This weekend I'm going to see a friend who still has most of his GameCube library and damn near all the ones on my list. Also, while I haven't been posting over the last few days because of work, I have been playing games on the list and I will be adding posts for them soon.
