Theres been a bit of a hoohah in Britain recently. Judges have ruled that sex offenders of all varieties (from meager furrys to full on pedophiles)  have the right to have their names removed from the sex offenders list.

http://deskbar.google.com/news/more?pz=1&hdlOnly=1&cf=all&ned=us&ncl=dn19JLswew-vZBMT4kDtwqL57ihjM   Personally i think this is a disgusting ruling, and it baffles me that government cant actually do anything to prevent this ruling from an (unelected!!) judge causing policy change, though this is an increasingly common occurrence. thoughts?

it should depend on the individual basis and details of each crime....

It is disgusting, The people involved should be charged and punished accordingly, If i walk up to a disabled person in the street and dragged them along the floor or slap their ear I would be arrested and charged with some sort of assualt, probably section 47: common assualt, And these people who are in a position of responsibility should be punished more harsly.  This has happened for a long time and usually the suspect is suspended then sacked and thats it, A politician who commits fraud by fiddling expenses should be charged with fraud and jailed for a minimum of 18 months(as thats the starting sentance for fraud) and because they abused their position and tax payers money they should be given a much stiffer sentance but they do not, Several people where jailed for the expenses scandel doing between 1-3 months each but only a handful of people where charged(scapegoats) and the majority got to pay money back and continue in their job, If i commited fraud i would be arrested and charged and offering to pay money back would make no difference, I would be fined and imprisoned or carry out a community sentance.  I only compare the two as it seems someone who commits a crime within a job of sorts escapes normal procedure where as the normal criminal is punished more where as i believe people who abuse power should be punished more.  Just one of the problems with society today, one rule for one and one for another.

totally agree - the good thing is 4 of the staff have been charged with these assaults.

as a nurse who has worked at points with people with learning and physical disabilities, this is utterly shocking and offended me to the core both personally and professionally.

I think GFW Radio was the best group ever assembled for a podcast, although even at the time, I preferred 1Up Yours because it offered more video game information that I needed on a weekly basis.  Because GFW Radio was looser and replete with these great stories, it holds up a lot better than old 1UP and just as old Bombcasts will 5 years from now.  I had hopes for Out of the Game and listened to the first dozen or so shows, but because everyone was so spread out and because each person was into their own thing, it lost some of the magic.  These days, the best show with the best cast is The Bombcast, but I still don't believe it is as entertaining as GFW Radio was.  Part of that is because I don't believe any of the GB staff really want to reveal that much about their pasts.  Shawn Elliot, Jeff Green, Robert Ashley and later Anthony Gallegos were always willing to tell these embarassing stories of their past misdeeds.  Jeff, Ryan and the boys are more reserved and so the show is more like 1Up Yours than GFW Radio.

Totally true mate, that's why I believe that johnny V should be on a helluva lot more (get well soon dude)

2 science based degrees...
What does that even mean? Did you spend 6-8 years studying? Or was it a dual degree sort of thing?

no mate, got my first degree in chemistry with instrumental analysis and worked in the research industry for 5 years and wanted to do something else - I studied nursing and I'm now an alcohol addiction specialist nurse.

A fantastic podcast. Infact, all the 1UP PODCASTS form a few years ago were utterly fantastic, IMO only the Bombcast and Weekend Confirmed come close when it comes to gaming podcasts - it's actually quite sad what has become of 1UP.......

As it stands now, for me, the bombcast is getting very close to the quality of GFW radio sometimes it even surpasses it.

LOL@ the apple haters in here - grow the fuck up.   OP- go to an apple store and have a good play with the macbook pros - they are great machines, regardless of what the fucktard haters here say.
I agree we've all been hating on Apple, by saying that  Apple offers the least value for money ( SPECS vs PRICE ) Apple has the most restrictive OS Apple has the most loyal fanbase and can LITRALLY release a fix 1 year after a product and everyone will be fine with it.

that's the thing, there's a huge difference between legitimate criticisms and outright hate, you feel you have valid criticisms and that's cool, I may not agree with many of them except the price (it's all about perceived value and user experience) and the 'you're a dick if you want a mac' bullshit we see here, honestly as an internet gaming nerd, I'm fucking embarrassed by some of the comments here, macs are inanimate objects for fuck's sake, why hate an inanimate object?

Why is the OS restrictive? what is so wrong about releasing software updates for older Os's? I don't get it?
