I just beat it last weekend on Nightmare, this dlc is definitely catered to people who mastered the core combat loop of doom eternal and wanted more challenge out of the game. They spawn more ultra heavies through out the level, combine with even more hazards and special type enemies that require you pay great attention towards.

The dlc is a lot harder than the base game, I'd say its a notch above the master levels the base game provide you with. Also, if you dislike the design philosophy of marauders, I would not recommend you to get this dlc, cus they absolutely doubled down on this idea both figuratively and literally.

Beat the story on UV this Saturday. I really enjoyed the game, It genuinely feels like a unique, one of a kind FPS with everything dialed up to 11. As I try to recollect the feeling I have with this game, I had a sudden realization that playing this game actually reminds me of StarCraft.

I know this sounds weird, but I think DOOM Eternal gives me the same feeling of executing the aspect of micro and macro like what an intense match of StarCraft did to me.

In terms of macro, its all about knowing when your abilities comes off cool down, dispensing said abilities to award yourself with trinity of armor-health-ammo, as well as buying yourself more time to process the situation.

The micro aspect involves mastering movement, aiming, avoiding attacks, quick swapping weapon for the situation you are facing.

When both aspects combines, it gives me the most impressive, quick thinking, finger twitching fps campaign I've ever experienced. However, I think the requirement to manage both aspects at an intense level can be off putting to people as well, what do you guys think?

Because you cant click on teammate to know their ability.

when you press the tab key, at the bottom of the scoreboard there is a show talent button.

the scoreboard transitions into player name with what talents are chosen, as well as the ultimate cool-down timer. (click it again to transfer back to the score screen)

I personally find it really frustrating since there are no voice chat to communicate if your ults up or not (or DOTA2's ability to alt-click your skill to show if its ready or not)

With HOTS as my experience being such a wombo-combo based team fight. Often the team with ult can crush enemy that was caught without it. (if i am correct, none of the ults in HOTS are passive)
