@StarvingGamer: It's not JUST a random forum poster.

You'll noticed I also linked a post directly from Capcom. They actually think this stuff is brand new costumes.

@Dookysharpgun: It doesn't matter if it is worth it or not. Fact is this will be THE version going forward. Like it or not I have to buy it.

Looks an awful lot like someones trying to tell me those are 6 costumes to me.

http://www.capcom-europe.com/blog/2011/08/ultimate-marvel-vs-capcom-3-new-costumes/

Or maybe capcom themselves. Lets make her suit red and it'll be just like AOA Jean! No not really. Just looks like red Phoenix. In fact if you didn't point to AOA Jean nobody would even get the reference. It's lazzzzzy. They've had more than enough time to gin up some actual costumes and spinning glorified palette swaps as alternate costumes is the epitome of lazy. Hell even your example of MK9 managed to come up with some interesting and inspired alternate costumes... that they released for free. I'm not saying make 6 brand new costumes. But don't make 6 color swaps and expect me to hop all over that capcom cock and thank them for including so much content when all they did was pop into photoshop for a few hours.

Also they have already admitted to this being intended DLC for MVC3 Vanilla and the earthquake knocked them a bit off schedule hence the retail release. I seriously doubt they'd release 45 dollar DLC and we'd probably end up paying, at most, 30 dollars for all 10 characters. Or they'd do what everyone else is doing and charge 25 for a season pass and we'd get two characters a week for 5 weeks. If it was still DLC that is.

Like I said I know what they are and them being a cheap, and lazy, way to include little nods to other versions of characters is not going to stop me from buying UMVC3. It's just annoying that they seem to think we're all idiots. Just another thing to add to the long list of stupid shit capcom has been doing over the years.

@musclerider: Yes they're just colors. Every fighting game has alternate colors. Explain to me why is it that the one time a fighting game puts a little more thought into their alternate colors, people decide to start bitching?

If no one bitched that SFIV came with yellow, black, blue, red, and grey Ryu, why are they bitching that UMvC3 comes with silver, black, purple, blue, and gold Storm just because they happen to be inspired by comics? What the fuck am I missing?

Because they bill them as costumes which they aren't.

Alternate color sets that make the character kinda look like those different era characters ain't the same thing as remodeling them altogether. Little thing called effort would be nice since they've already outed this re-release as intended DLC that got derailed due to the earthquake. If you're gonna go through the trouble of releasing a retail package of something that was probably going to be a 10 to 15 dollar download you need to make it more enticing for the consumer. A bunch of color swaps that kinda look like those characters ain't the way to do it. I'm gonna buy it all the same like I did with AE and SSF4 before it but swallowing that pill is a little easier when I don't have the doctor that prescribed it spinning bullshit while I'm taking it. I know these are color swaps. Being told they are costumes is what annoys me.

Know what I mean?

@StarvingGamer: Uh no because those weren't billed as "costumes". Also they did eventually put out new costumes for SF4 that looked pretty good. (Which I bought)

This is almost as bad as them selling us colors in SF3OE.

The costume packs in MVC3 Vanilla are an example of how they should be doing costume sets not recoloring the base one 6 times and saying its something totally different. Hell the Dante one even turned into Sparda.

That shit is not 6 costumes. It's one terrible costume recolored a whole bunch. It's more along the lines of 1 extra costume and 6 colors.

I would kill to have an actual 90's Uncanny Xmen Storm skin done proper.

Get Web of Shadows.

It's by far the best Spider Man game and was also the last open world game. The only bad thing I can think of regarding it is the voice acting is a bit rough and it isn't optimized that well.

It's worth checking out for the combat alone. It was so good they stripped it out of Web of Shadows and put a version of it in Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time.

4X MSAA was a requirement for Xbox 360 games originally, if I remember correctly. Developers couldn't deliver, so it was dropped.

2x MSAA and 720p was a requirement up until 2007 I believe is what it was.

But yeah they dropped it in favor of letting developers do whatever.

Hmmm wonder what he was doing down in NYC.

You'd think he would be busy making Bioshock Infinite up in Massachusetts.
