Personal oblivion with mods.

I remember when I first picked up Oblivion on release 4 years ago. I also remember people who barely played video games talking about it, "OMG the graphics are so life like." and other golden quotes. Getting it home and installing it was awesome. Of course I made the mistake of looking at the Oblivion forums to see if there were any mods yet.

There were... I think. I ignored them at first and played for a couple hours. Fast forward up to today. I still haven't beaten Oblivion.

Only one reason for that, mods. I constantly followed them for a while before moving onto other things. I was always waiting for the newest release of some new mod that would greatly improve the game. It got to the point, before I stopped playing, that I was reading more about mods than playing. As I said earlier I eventually moved on to other pastures.

The past couple of days I've had a horrible desire to play Oblivion. After re-installing it, I visited the Oblivion mod forums, and discovered something.  The scene hasn't changed, but I hope I have.

This crummy little story brings up an interesting question, does anyone else on GB spend more time reading about things coming for a game than actually playing it?
