Even for (some?) nvidia users the issues are just as big. I have a Nvida graphics card and the texture pop-in couldn't be worse. I have the latest drivers and enabled updates and I also tried almost every "fix" I found on the internet and it's still just as bad as before.
Waiting impatiently on game patch and/or driver updates.
1) Regenerating health - This is probably the worst of them all. Regenerating health is balanced by letting your character take a lot of damage form enemies (you can be killed with 2 or 3 hits). Which is awful for this type of game because it makes you feel fragile and weak. And it makes you play a lot more cautious. Which isn't the Duke experience at all. You are supposed to feel strong and that's accomplished with the heath bar plus health pack system. With that you can make the player take little damage over time and wear him down slowly. And that makes you feel strong and promotes more aggressive play.
2) Limited to 2 weapons - This is awful as well. Weapons are mostly situational which automatically forces you to use the most generic weapons that have the widest use and punishes you for using the more creative weapons like the shrink ray. It also takes that "Duke Nukem feel" of being prepared for anything out of the game.
3) Major performance issues - Saw a lot of people reporting major PFS drops for no reason.
4) No Boot - Not really that important, but this also removes that "Duke Nukem feel"
Bottom line: This is barely even a Duke Nukem game (in terms of gameplay), feels more like I'm playing Halo.
" Posted this in the other thread, but I'm gifting a few of the games I have left over from my Potato Sack purchase to those who would play them. Please don't PM me, just reply here, and I will help out my fellow Bomblings. I have left:
I am the only one who understands what the OP was trying to say? Anyway I like your analogy, sounded pretty good to me. And yeah I agree with everything you said. And is my opinion, StarCraft may actually be a way better "sport" than regular ones in terms of accessibility. Everyone can play the game, compete and have fun, even un-athletic people and most disabled people.
