I agree with your observation that music is scarce through Shadow Complex. But there is a lot of really neat ambient sound going on. Music is used for effect when you trigger events, and those little pieces can be nice, albeit with the more pumped scores i found myself wishing they would soon stop (total opposite to Bionic Commando Rearmed here). I liked the tune that some times plays when *SPOILER* you climb into vent shafts and are supposed to be stealthy. The best musical moment is when you submerge a large chunk of base under water and the piano plays as bodies and debris float about *END SPOILER*

I see reviews as entertainment value first hand, and second as a source of information, and only third do i consider the reviewers opinions.

"(...) Anyway, I have no idea, it's a lame, pseudo-comic look at how videogamers and WoW is. It's the sort of middle of the road humour, average quality which litters and pollutes the TV airwaves. In fact it's exactly the sort of thing which a CEO of an average TV channel would commission as part of their shows aimed at a younger audience, you know to appeal to the hip counter culture lifestyles. "

I perfectly agree with your assessment.

This kind of show has not much more going besides the "videogamy appeal", which it gets mostly wrong, too.

What remains is an insubstantial, bland and generalized "real action geek" aftertaste.

Rebecca Mayes Muses on The Escapist Magazine has pretty much the exact same effect on me.

A good example of how to do it properly would be Red Vs Blue,

but those projects came from gamers and fans in the first place, that have an intrinsic understanding of the subject matter...

...And i dont get reminded of Star Wars Kid every time. To each his own.

"What exactly is the point of having her do the voice work for this game, other than being able to tell geeks "look, cute girl with boobies! you want to buy this NOW!"?  I mean, it's not like her voice is THAT recognizable or unique. "

QFT. Exactly what i was thinking.

Goblins for Horde, fine. But Worgens for the Alliance?

And i thought they touched the lore raping bottom with Draenei.

PANDAREN, BLIZZARD. PANDAREN!!!

As cool a Goblin Rogue dual wielding kitchen knives and throwing giant bombs sounds to me, it wont bring me back to WoW.

Not even if you tie me with one leg to a horse and make it run through the Barrens.

5 was enough indeed, i clocked about 200+ hours with 2 characters, and i've yet to see everything.

Bethesda games sure are worth the buck for their bang, thanks :)

D — neither of the two :)

Albeit i have to admit that Wolfenstein has a great deal more appeal to me than the whole Madden rehearsal deal - as a budget title way down the line - anyways. Who knows what they are going to be adding in Madden this year to have an excuse for another full retail price, they already implemented snow last year, so what now, shoelace physics?
