A shame, I´d still be playing it if I had the means to. What´s already there, at least last I saw it, was great though.

Among some other things, I very much don´t like the Continue Watching field. Like every other such field I´ve come across it´s filled with mostly stuff I HAVE finished watching, sometimes not to the last possible second, sometimes it seems even those I have still end up there. Then there´s the stuff I stopped watching because I wasn´t interested in or enjoying it. I don´t need that to be so prominently featured, I´m pretty good of keeping track of what I actually want to go back and finish watching myself.

A way to hide stuff like this in favor of someting else would be appreciated.

Also the latest Episode in the "VinnyVania" Category is the second episode of Vinnystaina, with no apparent way to find the first episode other than searching the site. It seems like Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon needs to be added to the list of games in the season selector thing.

@arbitrarywater: My least favorite thing about Smash Tour was all the stuff that was locked behind playing it. My favorite thing about Smash Tour was that the timer for player turns made it so that you never actually HAD to play it. You just launched a game on the gamepad and played something else for 15 minutes, then got a bunch of unlocks.

That supposed leak doesn´t include any Arms characters, which seems like a significant missed opportunity, and alone makes me hope that it´s not real.

I´m a little unsure of how I feel about it.

On the one hand, I love how much they pull from the different games in terms of lore and characters, as someone who is still pretty up on that stuff, I thought that they used it well. On the other, I often felt like the show was lacking a direction, or just very uneven writing. There was half of an episode dedicated to showing the church coming to arrest Lisa, which was pretty much just showing us things that we had already been told about in season one, with no new information. Heck, all of the recognizable characters that showed up in that scene, save for the old woman, was already dead at that point. Then there was Godbrand taking with him a bunch of the other generals to raid a town, which I don´t remember leading to anything either, and likely won´t as they are also all dead by the end of the season. The heroes mostly hang out in a library until it´s suddenly time for the final battle.

I did enjoy a lot of what the villains were up to, though. Carmilla´s scheming, Dracula being sad and the two devil forgemasters backstories. Hector basically just got setup in this season, and not a lot of it so I´m really hoping that a third can deliver on him coming into his own. Meanwhile Isaac was definitely the stronger, more interesting character. I don´t remember a lot of about his character from Curse of Darkness, other than him looking different, but I´m very much looking forward to what he´ll be up to in the future.

Overall, I enjoy it because it´s Castlevania with a really cool style and more cohesive takes on its characters and lore than the games, and I´d definitely reup my Netflix subscription again if they make a third season. It´s not fantastic or anything, but it´s got some cool stuff going on.

I wouldn´t say no if they started doing it, but I´m also fine with the 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hour episodes they´ve been doing so far. It moves at a good tempo for me.

Though compared to something like Metal Gear I´m not as familiar with this series, so it´s not like I´m waiting with bated breath for them to reach certain parts of the story. I get that others might want a higher tempo for reasons like that.

Castlevania 3 is like my favorite Castlevania, so while I thought that the game was "fine" and decently enjoyable at first, it wasn´t until I got into the later half of the game, and did the more punishing Zangetsu only run (basically once the game pushed back enough that I couldn´t just stumble my way through it) that I started to love it.

Once I realized that it was also enough of its own game, with it´s own style and unique ideas besides being a homage to old school Castlevania I stopped getting hung up on things like comparing its character balance when the system was already a big departure from CV3 or the different aspect ratio making the enemy design feel a bit off. Some of the differences also grew on me as good improvements on some of NES Castlevania issues, such as making sub weapon lanterns more recognizable, or just the tighter feel of the stairs in general.

Yeah it might have fewer levels and no branching paths to alternate ones, but it also doesn´t reuse bosses and level layouts as CV3 did.

Two final points: One, it looks gorgeous with a style and color scheme reminicent of NES castlevania but at times has more detailed sprite designs or other advanced graphical effects that very much reminded me of Shovel Knight. The only issue I had was that I felt like some of the boss designs had an odd design to them. Like the dragon looks less like a gothic monstrosity and more like a monster card from Yu-gi-oh! Some of it is them taking designs from the main game, I´m sure, which very much has that more vibrant anime style. Otherwise it could just be that, that´s what the artists at Inti Creates do. Either way it wasn´t my favorite.

My second point comes to the writing, which while it doesn´t matter much, and has an easy enough to follow main plot with maybe 2 or 3 beats in it, is still kind of bad. It could have been more consise or better structured overall, instead it throws around terms like "shardbinder" without ever going into it at all. No doubt a result of the characters being taken out of context from a game that will have a more comprehensive scenario written from it, but I still thought that they should have just ignored the supposed "canon" of these characters to make them fit more into the simple setup of the game they were currently in.

That´s all I have to say. Gotta get back to finishing that Nightmare run and try doing an ability less Zangetsu one as well. I´m still excited for the main Bloodstained, but part of me wants another, even bigger one of these.

If like, Duke Nukem was in it, and you could play as him. That´d be the business.
