I spent most of 2012 in a small apartment in Quebec, Canada. Halfway across the world, away from my home of Australia, I had one of the richest years of my computer game life. Here's some of the best moments I had.

Getting reacquainted with your estranged son and difficult, yet loveable wife, only to have the snatched away in a gory, beautiful, intense, Johnny Cash inspired finale.
Beating Dark Souls. That moment of beating Gwyn at 3am after an intense 6 hour gaming session will live on in memory for a long time.
The realisation when you see a pattern on a wall, hold your phone camera up to it and realise that yes, it is a QR code in a game.
Late night/early morning 4-player hardcore mode Diablo. While not the groundbreaking game this was meant to be, I still had a lot of fun playing this with friends from all over the world. It was when I realised how games can bring people together and help us stay in contact.
The moment in dialogue when you're speaking to Katjaa and a zombie comes up from behind her. Scared the life out of me!
Feeling genuine care and empathy for a video game character for the first time in Clementine.
