Enjoying the ride with Higurashi. My question would be if in the end most questions are answered? The loop that is happening is quite interesting, not many shows do that as far as I can tell. I'm up to episode 11. Will things get more insane? I would like that.

The first season of Higurashi has four question arcs, and two answer arcs. You'll have to watch the second season for the remaining answer arcs. And yes, things are going to get even more insane in the second half of the first season.

@jagged85: Barakamon. A humorous slice-of-life that'll put a smile on your face.

Looks interesting. Might check it out.

I would like them to do what was planned originally, and have Gohan surpass Goku and become the main character.

This. It's getting tiring to see Goku always beat the bad guys and save the world. It's about time he passes on the torch to Gohan, who I find to be a much more interesting character than Goku. I wouldn't mind Goten or Trunks taking on the lead role either, for that matter.

@bigjeffrey:The first half of Shigatsu also has its fair share of melodrama, but the story starts getting more uplifting with the whole music competition angle. And just when things are looking up, reality comes crashing back down again around the mid-way point... If you thought the first few episodes were melodramatic, then you haven't seen anything yet. The second half takes the melodrama to another level.

@bigjeffrey: @edgaras1103: Thanks for the recommendations, guys. I might check those shows out... And lol, what's up with those gifs?

I just finished watching Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April) yesterday... That is one of the most depressing anime I've seen in a long time. The last time an anime made me feel like that was Angel Beats years ago.

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about Shigatsu. On the one hand, it had a gripping story (made me pull a marathon), some memorable characters (but some not so memorable), and brought out strong emotions. But on the other hand, I can't help but feel some resentment towards the heavy-handed, depressing melodrama, throughout the second half (compared to the more uplifting first half).

Damn, I need something to get over it... I really feel like I want to watch an anime that's happier, entertaining, and uplifting. Any recommendations?

It's a shame a game with so much potential to revive survival horror has been cancelled... just because Konami doesn't like Kojima.

I've been wondering the same thing about minigames... Like, for example, if Shenmue contains a minigame of Space Harrier... Would that technically make it part of the Space Harrier franchise if it contains Space Harrier as a minigame?

So far, the new Dissidia: Final Fantasy appears to be developed by Taito and Square Enix, using a similar game engine to their previous arcade games, the Gunslinger Stratos series of third-person shooters, but with hack & slash instead of shooting.

Since previous arcade games from Taito and Square Enix were exclusive to Asian arcades, it's unlikely the new arcade Dissidia will be released on consoles or Western arcades, but we'll have to wait and see.

To add to this, I found out that Square Enix are also making another arena combat game similar to Dissidia, called School of Ragnarok, also for Japanese arcades. Along with Lord of Vermillion and Gunslinger Stratos, it seems like Square Enix has been focusing heavily on arcade games lately.
