Might dump it onto a separate SSD and have a play, wonder if it's a openSUSE or Debian fork. Probably Debian since a lot of their early work was on Ubuntu.

It's a custom distribution not based on Debian or any other distribution.

From Engadget:

As promised, the OS is built on Linux (not based on Ubuntu, we're told, but entirely custom), though you'd never know it as the only interactive layer is all Steam.

Oh I wasn't suggesting they haven't put significant work into tailoring Linux for their own needs, simply citing their early test bed. Ubuntu itself uses Debian package manager and the Steam client has been served up in .deb form on Linux until now, so it's likely that will be the package manager bundled up with the rest of the OS.

Well I guess we'll find out either way in 2 days. Woo!

@the_drizzle: replace the drive and wait for the Steam Machines to come out. They're pretty much made for people who don't want to futz with building a PC themselves.

While we're at it. this has been at me for some time, the way the guys pronounce 'garage' always throws me.

They always pronounce it 'ga-rarge', all posh and what not. Garage 'ga-ridge' is a place where you store a car, things get dirty and/ or music is made sparking a scene in the 90's.

Why does Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear say Mazda as Mazdur (where does that wild R always appear from?) and Nissan and Nissin? and it's not GAY RODGE Jeremy it Gah-roge.

I think the Duke is one of my favorite controllers. It's the closest to feeling like I'm holding on to my bing bong.

Top controllers from Left to right: 1. Duke 2. Dreamcast 3. Dual Shock 2 4. Genesis 5. GCN (shoutout to MS Sidewinder) and a fuck you to the N64 controller.

God damn it. I didn't even notice it the first time. Now I can't stop hearing it. He really is saying chennel. I'm born and raised in California and I only ever heard and called it channel (Or I guess the way @truthtellah said it "Chan-ell"). Maybe that comes out sometimes sounding like chennel?

I hope this is true, because whatever Sony does with Crash can't help but be better than what Activision has been doing with Crash (nothing?).

Yeah, I guess, but I'm guessing it'd just be handed off to one of their fifth-string studios that'll make the most rote, uninspired Crash game possible.

Maybe they'd give it to Naughty Dog since their studio can handle more than one game? If so I may have to get a PS4 because I'm a Crash fan.

The only big advantage I can think of right now is being able to just start a game without having to find the disc and put it in the system.

A real human looks at all of these submissions

So I guess you have to outsource when it's time for somebody to look at the submissions?
