Games I Have Finished For The 8th Generation (3DS) So Far...

List items

  • The console versions are vastly superior but still very impressive for a handheld with decent 3D effects to boot. 7/10.

  • One of the stronger Mario Karts since the Halcyon days of the N64 and the SNES. Would have scored higher if not for the erratic grading system shoehorned into it. 7/10.

  • Quite simply a masterpiece, not only one of the finest puzzle games ever made but one of the finest games I've played full stop. It really helps to have played the first game in the series (999) to get maximum enjoyment from the game, as it is heavily story driven. 10/10.

  • One of my favorite games for the 3DS as it combines the final franchise (which I love) with a well structured rhythm action engine. Fans of the series be warned if you have not finished FF I through XIII but intend to, elements of the story will be ruined. 9/10.

  • A fantastic job remaking the visuals and the game is still a masterpiece but I felt some of the controls didn't work as well on the 3DS as they did on the N64, bundling the Master Quest in also gave great value for money. 8/10.

  • The 3D effects are nice but for people who finished the game on the PS2 there really wasn't a whole lot new on offer, still a great game and one of the better tales in my opinion, but only worth while for newcomers. 8/10.

  • A great addition to the Mario franchise, would score higher if not for some over familiarity carried over from the galaxy games. 7/10.

  • The strongest Professor Layton game gameplay wise in my opinion and although the story is enjoyable it is also rather simply and predictable throughout. 7/10.

  • Great downloadable puzzle game from the 3DS store, makes good use of the stereoscopic 3D effects, only downside is there are far too many puzzles and it can become quite tiresome by the end. 7/10.

  • Fantastic strategy game, although I prefer traditional JRPG's to tactical ones this was still very enjoyable and the best Fire Emblem so far with the most amount of customization available to the player to enhance their overall gaming experience. 8/10.
