@tescovee: So metacritic is objective? If Bethesda thought Fallout: New Vegas wasn't worthy of the Fallout legacy then they could have decided that for themselves and canceled the project before the game was completed so that argument is bullshit.
It is objective. It is a definitive score. It is a definitive and quantitative number. It's not a made up average.

The idea that you think Bethesda has any right to determine what is worthy of the Fallout legacy is sickening.
@tescovee: So metacritic is objective? If Bethesda thought Fallout: New Vegas wasn't worthy of the Fallout legacy then they could have decided that for themselves and canceled the project before the game was completed; but obviously they didn't so that argument is bullshit.
What are they just going to start making compromises on (million?) dollar contracts? If the contract states 85 and they hit 84 then they failed; it's sad but that's how it goes. They are an independent company and signed on the dotted line.
This isn't newsworthy.
It's not about whether or not they signed a deal. Everyone knows they signed the deal. A deal is a deal. Its about the questionable ethics of the deal. And that's definitely worthy of discussion.
Do you know how many people get raises or bonuses dependent on customer ratings of some kind? Uh, lots. This problem is not new or unique to the video game industry just because it's Metacritic instead of JD Powers.
Guess who else gets bonused on goals and doesn't get a cut of the merchandise take? Just about 95% of working people in the world.
If that's the case, they should have given them a bonus for selling X amount of copies in X amount of time. A Metacritic score doesn't represent customers.
