I was wondering if you would include Asuka 120% special burning fest. But its your number 1. Nice. Id like to try it out.

Is this only for imports?  If not, is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure worth some attention?

Heh forgot about Waku Waku 7. Every time my friend suggested we play it I couldn't help think about Fozzy Bear. "Waka waka waka!"

To this day, I'm amazed at just how much of a step forward Tobal 2 was to Tobal No. 1. Not only was it a great fighting game, but it had that insane dungeon/adventure mode where you could unlock even weirder playable characters. Fighting as a Chocobo was pretty crazy.

Daraku Tenshi: Fallen Angels needs to be mentioned. Probably the darkest and grimiest 2d fighter, more so than Groove On Fight. Really high production values and good animation with large well rendered sprites. A couple of characters from it were used as the basis for K' and Maxima in KoF '99, I think because there was some exodus of employees to SNK from Psykio, the company that made it. Released only in arcades.

Waku waku 7 rocks

Waku Waku 7! That game is awesome. Don't know much about Groove on Fight, but what I like even more than the title is military uniforms with underboob.

Waku Waku isn't obscure. Unless you are only referring to Waku Waku 7. I can't say which is which in the Waku Waku series.

You're probably not a fan but what were your feelings on Psychic Force?  I actually liked those games because when throwing a fireball gave you a great feeling in most classic fighters, those games encouraged you to throw big ass energy blasts often.  I imagine that sounds like a DBZ philosophy but sometimes a lot of flash is fun.

I spent hours and hours as a kid playing to finally get that crown icon next to my robot.

You forgot Eternal Champions, duh!

Always needs more Last Blade 2, and possibly Matrimelee, Rage of the Dragons, and Rumble Fish. But those sort of have a link to popular games at this point.
