So basically, it's kind of great that a lot of games are getting OSX ports on Steam. Problem is, I like to play with a controller every once in a while, and games generally don't have great support for PS3 controllers. Is there anything like MotionInJoy for OSX where you can more or less emulate a 360 controller with a Dualshock 3?
This is going to seem super shallow, but I stopped playing Monster Hunter for very small reasons. I can understand animation priority, but it it doesn't have to be excessive. I literally stopped playing Monster Hunter when I drank a potion, and my character flexes his arms. I'm getting attacked by some large spiky monster! Why would I flex after drinking a potion that barely saved my life?
I wouldn't buy lass games, but I almost never buy games at launch. Even if they start at $70, they'll eventually fall into the $20-30 range, and I'll just get them then. So yeah, I'll probably continue getting just as many games.
@Silock: It really isn't unless you constantly stretch your stomach. Your body is built so it doesn't actively kill itself unless your brain decides otherwise, but have you ever eaten too much food before? You'll throw up. Same thing if you drink too much water.
Those games probably weren't called ripoffs because they were well received and redefined the genre. Doom is pretty self explanatory. Halo was pretty much started the console FPS market, Call of Duty popularized kill streaks, etc, etc.
Basically, until this game comes out, it probably won't stop. Is it fair? Not really. For all we know from a couple seconds of gameplay, it could have some groundbreaking new mechanic. But in the end, it's a party fighting game with the top mascots of one company, versus a party fighting game with the top mascots of another.
@SuperSambo: ...lol. I posted it, then went to eat, then in the middle of eating thought that this would come up, and voila! And you're right. By that logic, I should be perfectly fine eating other people. I don't think I need to tell anyone that I'm not into eating humans. Few species cannibalize, after all. From a purely biological point of view, it does nothing to further develop our species. Ethically speaking, it's unsound. Thankfully, codes of ethics apply to humans only, and not non-human animals. Therefore, I will eat any animal, as long as the taste is agreeable to me.
