I always preferred Ryan's original joke of the "China Don't Care" shirt (I goddamn loved it when he came up with that on the podcast -- it seemed like the perfect GB-style meme) and thought the "Fuck Ryan Davis" was amusing but kinda lame.

I was hoping for a re-release of the CDC shirt (I missed getting it the first time around), either as-is or with some kind of memorial twist (someone suggested a simple "China Does Care", maybe with a image of Ryan or something, which is okay -- I'm sure some people could come up with even better ones).

So yeah, I'll wait around to see what the alternate designs are.

Okay people, I haven't tried Hotline Miami yet, is the keyboard controls good enough for a dude who is primarily a console gamer not to get frustrated with? I recently played Mark of The Ninja and it wasn't AS enjoyable as it would have been with a controller (It was still great though).

1. While Hotline Miami might look like a controller game, it was designed to be a keyboard and mouse game, and kind of relies on the speed of the mouse to be playable. I'm not saying that people can't play it with a controller, just that that would probably make it harder, whether you're primarily a console gamer or not.

2. You will die constantly. This is not because you are unfamiliar with the control scheme, it is because it is balls-hard. Those of us who have been playing m+k games our whole lives get into screaming cursing fits with this game.

So basically, I say get it -- if you are the kind of player who can handle Super Meat Boy or Trials-style, die-a-hundred-times-restarting-instantly-and-then-finally-get-it-through-skill-but-mostly-dumb-luck types of games.

----

As for me, I'm mostly going to be waiting for a couple of wishlist games, as my backlog is titanic, but will probably pick up Antichamber today.

It's been posted already, but I think this has to be both my favorite Giant Bomb moment as well as my favorite Ryan Davis moment, and it shouldn't be a surprise that they are one and the same.

"I feel like that train was just driving directly out of my MIND"

Ride that Sky Train, Mr. Davis.

Not impressed with Jagged Alliance and I am not hearing good things online about it - same goes for UFO.

I hope you are talking about the new Jagged Alliance game, because that is indeed rubbish.

Jagged Alliance 2, however, is the undisputed king of the genre. No Valkyria Chronicles, Frozen Synapse or whatever comes even remotely close the greatness of that game. Do yourself a favor and play it.

I know I'm late to this conversation, but I absolutely agree with this statement. Jagged Alliance 2 is so incredibly good, the best of the genre since the original X-Com, and at least somewhat newer in graphics and interface.

I will disagree with the suggestion to install the v1.13 mod, though, at least for your first playthrough. JA2 is a substantially more complicated game than the new XCOM, with a huge number of weapons and systems. v1.13 makes it even more complicated, throws in even more stuff, and bumps up the difficulty on what is already a hard game. I would recommend at the very least playing a few hours of vanilla to get a handle on the game before re-starting with v1.13 if you really want to use the mod.

Also I would highly recommend reading a FAQ/guide for the very beginning of the game -- once you get past the first hump you'll be fine, but the start of that game can be brutal. Don't let that scare you off though! It's so good, it's worth it.
