Finished Saints Row: The third and started up Half Life 2 today.

So yeah, Saints Row: The Third is finished and I can take that off my list of Steam games that I need to finish. It was a pretty good experience and I may go back soon to finish all the little side quest mini games but right now the main quest line is off my mind. Started Half Life 2 but it will take me a bit of time to get to the point that I was at when I was playing on 360 originally. I find that it has its little charms here and there and when I can get a good moment to sit down and really enjoy it without anyone bothering me throughout the game. I'm still watching Alpha Protocol on Steam but I am definitely going to buy it when it goes on sale or possibly sooner. Any suggestions for some good first person shooter/ action games on Steam that are a good deal?

Singularity and Bioshock for FPS games.

Just Cause 2 for another open-world action game; Devil May Cry 3 (if it's a good port) for a hackey-slashey action game.

Sorry, I didn't know what kind of action game you meant. It's kind of a broad term.

I would say that Alpha Protocol is probably worth the $20 they are charging on Steam, but not if you're looking for an action experience.

I just picked up Wolfenstein when it was on sale, and it's pretty cool.  I beat it on PS3 when it was originally released and liked it quite a bit, but traded it in since money was tight.

Alien Swarm is free and awesome.

You could also try Left 4 Dead 2 or Killing Floor if you're interested in killing stuff cooperatively.

Metro 2033 is $20 if you can run it smoothly.

I'm leaving out things like Far Cry 2 and Call of Pripyat because if you can't find enough time to settle in a play a good chunk of Half-life 2, then there's no way you'll have enough time for these games.

@believer258: I would get Singularity but I see Activision has the price up to $30 still so I will wait and get that when it is maybe 50% off. I have actually beat Bioshock and in the process of beating Just Cause 2. I will take a look at the reviews for Devil May Cry since Hack and Slash can be pretty fun. I haven't played the others, is there any story I would be missing?

@Spoonman671: Yeah, I was mainly looking at Alpha Protocol because I saw some reviews and people were saying it was like Mass Effect and I just can't will myself to buy Mass Effect 3 right now. I might as well give it a try if I can't will myself to play through something else. I actually loved Killing Floor because my friends were online but I have almost capped out my perks in it.

Devil May Cry? Story?

...nah. The only one I've played is 3 and story is not what you would play that game for. Besides, chronologically the series goes 3-1-4-2, so three actually comes first.

EDIT: I don't mean to say it's bad, it's just not something that you're going to be fawning over.

EDIT 2: Also 4 has been ported to PC. I hear it's not as good but it has much better graphics.

One of the games I mentioned, Wolfenstein, is actually made by the same developer who did Singularity, and it's currently $20.  You might want to give that a try to get a feel for what to expect from Singularity.  Just keep in mind that Wolfenstein has an open hub world, whereas Singularity is a linear shooter.

yo Alpha Protocol on steam runs buttery smoooooth on steam (at least on my build) and the game looks really good. Had it on the 360 and pc version's such much better.
