Alien is one of the most stressful and not fun experiences you may have watching a movie(in a really good way), Aliens is just straight up perfect. Alien 3 is great in spots, but pretty uneven. You should just watch the first three anyway even if you don't play CM.

@believer258: Every single achievement name is a quote from the movie... ugh.

WHY IS THAT BAD

HOW IS THAT GOOD!?

It bodes badly for the game's writing. Sure, a small reference here and a little nudge there is nice, but if the whole game constantly references Aliens and the other movies, then it won't be very good as far as story goes. There's "fanservice" and then there's annoyingly going "HEY LOOK WE'VE SEEN ALIENS ALMOST AS MANY TIMES AS YOU HAVE!"

The achievements are direct reflections of the actual game's writing? That's news to me.

Meanwhile, literally two posts down, a smartass young internet denizen by the name of Believer had the following to say on the matter:

I understand this and I'll of course wait for the game to come out and for me to play it to pass final judgement. I'm just expressing annoyance at the achievements list names and a bit of apprehension for the actual game's story.

I was replying via the message sent to my account. You certainly are right about the smartass thing.

Although I'm going to agree with the complaint of one of the Escapist commentators (it might have been Jimquisition) that it's very weird that there's no female characters playable in multiplayer, not even Ridley or Vasquez.

You sure? They made sure to clear up the matter of ladies in campaign, there aren't any in multiplayer?

I loved the demo, it actually got me feeling good about the game for the first time.

I loved the atmosphere, the soundtrack, it looks fucking AMAZING, I think the weappon crafting is fascinating and it legitimately made me jump a few times. Also, that drill sequence freaked the fuck out of me. And the human enemies were not at all a problem, seems like every time that you encounter dudes that have guns, they get snatched up and torn to shreds by some horrific tentacle monster within thirty seconds.

Then, I played the co-op with a friend and I thought all the dialogue was terrible.

Several times Brad has claimed that Snap Shot is essential for snipers in X-Com. He is completely wrong, Squad Sight is way better.

Curse him.

That's one that I just chock up to play style. I personally have no idea why someone would sacrifice 20 aim on a sniper so he can move and shoot but maybe Brad plays more run and gun than I do. Still seems INSANE to me.

As a person that was nailing sectopods from one end of the temple ship to the other with my squadsight sniper, I'm finding in my second playthrough that snap shot snipers are pretty god-damn amazing. It's really a great trade-off.

Fuck Alex for saying that people that prefer Aliens over Alien are not "intelligent human beings".

Also, Red Dead is great, Jeff is weird.

I got way into Brotherhood multiplayer, Revelations multiplayer was a great expansion on Brotherhood, III multiplayer sort of felt like the Modern Warfare 3 to Revelations's Modern Warfare 2. That probably sounds more harsh than I intend.

I guess I didn't mind that part, during all of the parts involving famous, iconic moments in U.S. history I was too focused to trying to claw my way through the immensely shitty mission design. Seriously, I get it. You made a Bunker Hill setpiece. Do I really have to run all the way down the fucker and get the timing on getting into cover JUST right?

Paul Revere's ride was laughable, in retrospect. When I was actually playing it, I'm pretty sure I was just pissed off.
