Fast paced, adrenaline pumping and instantly addicting ! 1

I´m curently up at 4.30 AM because my adrenaline levels are through the roof. The reason is League of Legends. This game is hands down one of the best I´ve played this year, and thats despite it´s lack of content. This game currently have ONE map to play on and STILL is so fun I´ve probably spent 8 hours playing it tonight. And probably 40 or 50 hours total and I feel like I´m just beginning to get into this game.    LoL follows the Blizzard concept of being very easy to get into and very hard t...

Sometimes low expectations are a really good thing.. 4

I´ve played through all of the Halo games at least once and I enjoy them as shooters. But I´m not a huge fan of the universe and I don´t think I´ve played the multiplayer even once. I´ve always managed to get caught up in the hype machine for each game but this time I was kind of unaffected by it. I still decided to pick ODST up and boy did I benefit from my low expectations. I went in expecting an ok expansion for Halo 3 but before the campaign was over I ended up feeling like this is my favori...

Dripping with attitude ! 0

I´m very torn about WET. On one hand its an extremely stylish third person action game with great ideas, a superb lead character, one of the best soundtracks of the year and smooth, adrenaline pumping action. But on the other hand the game is riddled with small design errors that really detracts from the overall enjoyment of the game.  The game casts you as Rubi Malone. A hard, independent gun for hire taken direcly from a grindhouse-like, tarantino esque movie that´s not been made yet. Y...

Impressive 3D techology advancement on the iPhone. 0

What it is and what it isnt Doom Resurrection is NOT a port of Doom 3. It uses the Doom 3 engine (which really shows how scalable that engine is) and the game takes place on the same space station. But you´re a lone survivor of a marine squad on the base rather than a lone marine that has come to investigate the situation. He looks just like the guy from Doom 3 tho. The levels are new and not patched in from different parts of Doom 3, at least not so far anyway. The engine was reprogammed by John...

Feeds your loot lust AND wakes your sleeping RTS need. 2

I´m going to start off by being completely honest with you. Growing up I was a huge RTS fan but in my more adult years I really can´t remember a single RTS title that I´ve actually played through start to finish. RTS is a hard genre to make these days. Its extremely easy to fall into mechanics that just feels boring in this day and age. Its also very hard to create a story and a universe that feels compelling enough for you to actually stay at your PC instead of jumping on the couch and playing ...

Kick the summer off with a SHOCK ! 0

It dosen´t happen very often but when it do I know the game is something special. I´m talking about the feeling you get from a really good game. You think about when going to bed and when you wake up the next morning its the first thing there. I don´t know exacly why InFamous did this to me, it was probably a combination of things that made this game feel totally and utterly fresh. Cole McGrath is a bike messenger in Empire City. He has a girlfriend name Trish and a best friend named Zeke. He en...

The father of shooters..in YOUR pocket ! 0

I´ve been listening to John Carmacks speeches about his iPhone projects alot and today I finally got around to buying Wolfenstein 3D for my iPod Touch. It was on sale and I got it for a mere dollar or so. That is absolutely nothing for this great shooter classic in my pocket at all times. The game brags in the description about how John Carmack himself thought out the controls for the game carefully. The controls themselves are highly customizable. Theres basicly a small virtual d-pad for turnin...

Oh its BUSTed alright. HAH! 0

For a second or two I actually thought this game was funny. Starting it up I remembered the old PC days when Leisure Suit Larry was a good game. When the humor was spot on and where the sexual references was tastefully done. Larry had class and the game had fun and classic point and click mechanics. For a second I thought I saw that glory in this game. The humor kinda works a couple of times and its easy to get fooled for an hour or two. But then its hits you like a bomb. The game is a hybrid of ...

Quick time Ninja go ! 0

Ninja Blade makes a solid first impression with decent presentation, an over the top story and very cinematic quick time events. Then its downhill from there with repeating bosses, repeating levels, shallow combat, boring environments and more... Ninja Blade puts you in the role of Ken, a modern day Ninja thats a part of an elite Ninja group called in to save Tokyo from a crisis concerning a type of parasite that´s slowly turning the whole city to horrible mutants. A couple of minutes into the s...

One of the most charming´and original rythmgames on the PS2. 0

+ Unique, innovative and sometimes very challenging rythm gameplay. Easy to learn, hard to master. Smart control layout !+ Beautiful, fantasticly designed and stylish scenarious filled with humour playing in the background when youre playing. Some scenes are nothing short of masterpieces and one special scene is one of the most beautiful gaming moments Ive played through all year.+ Really good songs. A very important point for a rythmgame of course and GM delivers on every aspect. Theres crazy J...

If you have a child that wants to play a DS platformer. This is it 0

+ Nice twist in the oh so intriguing Super Mario story. The Mario brothers gets kidnapped and the PRINCESS gets to save them. Actually feels really fresh, believe it or not. If you are a big fan of Super Mario you will also appriciate it.+ New gameplay elements and some grenremixing into the Super Mario platform formula. The basics are the same. Its a platform game and you progress through such levels in various themes ranging from grassland to winterland to the deep forests. This time around th...

A mystery that will leave you sleepless until its solved. 0

Where to begin with this game? Theres so much good about this game and theres so many parts that come together to make this a superb gaming experience. I guess we start from the beginning. You are sitting in an airplane watching some family photos and reading the card that is glued to the nice present you got from your parents. The year is 1960 and you are crossing the deepest parts of the atlantic ocean in a plane that is thick with cigarrettesmoke. You dont know who you are or where you are he...

The greatest version of the greatest actiongame ever? Think again 0

Ninja Gaiden was released many years ago as a Hack n Slash actionadventure with heavy emphasis on the action. The game could arguably be compared to games like "Devil May Cry" or the more recent "Heavenly Sword". Enemies spawn and you string together combos of moves similar to a fighting game to eliminate them and move on to the next room. Contrary to DMC and HS tho, Ninja Gaiden feautured quite alot of exploring and puzzlesolving feeling almost like a Zelda adventure at times.Since the release ...

The best Marioadventure to date ! 0

Mario is back for REAL for the first time since Mario 64 and he revolutionizes the series, the genre and the gamingindustry before hes done! This is the game that Wii owners bought their console for last year and its the game that pretty much anyone whos ever heard of Mario has been wanting to try out since they first heard of it. Its the game that a whole world has gazed at in amazement for years and its finally here. It delivers on everything and only a few annoyances keeps this from being the...

Some clumsy design choices and technical issues brings it down. 0

First off. I´m not very into skating. I occasionally put on the Extreme Sports channel to enjoy some tricks, I can name most of the tricks you can do on a board, I listen to some punkrock and skatepunk and I find some of the clothing connected with the skateculture kinda nice and consider it stuff I could wear on an everyday basis. But thats about it. I have never tried to learn riding a skateboard and I find the Tony Hawk games to be some of the most frustrating games you can play on any platfo...

A well directed, well produced, over the top stylish actiongame. 0

Some people just dont get it. They dont get the wonderful humor that is DMC. They actually have the guts to complain about DMC4s cheesy dialogue and over the top cutscenes. They are actually complaining about the female characters that are as over the top sexy as Dante is over the top cool. My opinion is that Devil May Cry 4 is one of the funnist games I have ever played, and I mean that in the pure "humor" sense of the word. The cutscenes are completely soaked in the best fighting coreography I...

One of the three greatest PC games ever made.. 0

The pinnacle of Peter Molyneux founded Bullfrog Productions and also his finest work there before he left to set up Lionhead Studios. Took a standard strategy/management formula and turned the tables on it. Instead of playing the good guys you play an evil Dungeon Keeper and you task is to dig out a huge cave filled with different rooms to attract dark creatues from a portal wich you then have to feed, train and take to battle when the good lord of the land comes to visit. You dig out "rooms" an...

The great grandfather of every shooter in existence. 0

I recently checked my Xbox Live statistics and one of the games I have played the most since I bought my Xbox 360 at launch is Doom for XBLA. That says alot about the games quality compared to todays market. The story of Doom is a long and extremely interesting one. The story of John Carmack, John Romero and friends who sat in a cabin out in the woods and created a game in their teens. Its a long and very emotional one for someone as into gaming as I am to read and everyone should read it. Anywa...

The RTS mammoth ! 0

Together with Starcraft its the biggest Progaming RTS ever created. I myself played Warcraft 3 for pretty much 2 whole years, climbing the ladders and participating in tournaments. Just like with all other Blizzard games WC3 takes 30 minutes to learn but years to master and just like the others you can play them for 1000s of hours without getting bored. On the surface WC3 is a highly polished RTS with excellent artdesign, 4 distinct fun races, and superb campaigns that takes you through alot of ...

A big part of the RTS foundation. 0

C&C. The grandfather of RTS. Took Dune and made it a huge mainstream success. Huge enough to really put Westwood on the map. Pokes fun at worldwide conflicts and makes it feel important at the same time. C&C is also the resurrection of full motion video cutscenes with people like Mr Kane. Command & Conquer was charm and pixelperfected realtime strategy set to the mindblowing soundtrack of Mr Frank Klepacki whos soundtracks still infects both my Winamp and my iPod. C&C1 set up the...

A timeless hotseat game ! 0

Without doubt one of the games I have spent most effective hours playing. Running around exploring an overworld map, building up your city and getting into battles was so much fun on my old PC back in the day. HoMM2 had the perfect balance compared to the other games in the series but just like the others it had this magic feel to it that really makes a true legendary game what it is. You cant really put your finger on it. I think the magic here comes from a combination of great gameplay, superb...

One of the absolute greats ! 0

Another overlooked and underrated shooter that dosent take itself to seriously and that has the guts to go back to the roots of shooters and as always I applaud them. You have to battle your way through hells greatest generals (wich are some of the biggest bosses in shooter history) and their hordes of demons to see your girlfriend again who is waiting for you in heaven where you are not allowed to go before you do "god" this one last favour with Eve (yes that eve) by your side. The weapondesign...

Warhammer fan or not, all you need to like is strategy ! 0

Whether youre into Warhammer or not this real time wargame is totally rad. You command giant armies of Warhammer figures wich you customize with stuff from the boardgame before you go out. The campaign has a dark and gripping story and at the time the 2D/3D mixed graphics looked fabulous. It had a great feel to it that not even the Total War games could get through to me. The epic fantasy feel of the battles, the characters and the heroes were fantastic and the strategic elements were very deep....

A superb, mindbending shooter. 0

A very underrrated shooter that I pretty much spent a whole summer playing, getting 1000/1000 achievementpoints, playing countless hours of multiplayer and replaying the campaign twice in a row. Prey was in development for like a decade and it came out being something completely different than originally intended but still awesome. Its an extremely oldschool shooter in the Duke, Quake, Doom vein and that is probably what gets me so excited. It uses the Doom 3 engine wich makes it look fantastic ...

An often forgotten racing classic ! 0

My first Contact with MM2 was actually in my classroom in school where we had an old PC set up for school work. But every time we had a chance we all faced off against each other in MM2. Every break was spent in front of that small computer screen because MM2 is even to this day one of the best racers ever made. The creativity in the trackdesign can only be matched by Mario Kart. The concept of driving on a pooltable, in your garden or in the kitchen was utterly mindblowing and so unique I still...

An overlooked shooter classic ! 0

Redneck Rampage was released at a time when Shooters took themselves very seriously. There were also alot of shooters on the market and Redneck Rampage blew its way in there with sick redneck jokes, overdriven alien abduction plot twists and loads of chicken humour. RR dosent take itself seriously for 1 second. Every enemy is a laugh in the face of the genre and Leonard, the games redneck hero, constantly throws wonderful oneliners at you like the opening statement "Its time open a can of ...
