The last time I read a book it was back in the late 90s or so. I hate to read, especially books. But right here right now Im going to make an exception. In my recent fit of renewed John Carmack interest I decided to order "Master of Doom" which is an extended version of the story of the Johns and how they created something that would change the future of the industry and popculture forever. This is the history of ID Software and how these young brilliant guys put their lives into these early projects of theirs that would set the bar for what we are playing today. I havent started reading it yet but I have to say, and I NEVER say this, Im really looking forward to reading this book and I think I can safely say my interest in this is so high I will easily blow through it.
I recommend all of you to pick it up if you havent already. I only payed around $17 for it, including postage. So its really a must buy. I will return with impressions of the book when Ive gotten into it.
