In the game:
You play a doorstop that could aquire awkward robotic attachments which never usually remained attached for long since the game was hard as shit and one shot from anything could knock them off. Also, the lightsaber was represented in-game by a laser shooting out of your belly. Eff this game.

I've heard some bad things about FFXIII but this is the game that killed my love for the Final Fantasy series. I got about 4 hours into it when I realized I didn't care about anyone or anything that happened in this world.
I also didn't appreciate the way the combat system was changed to work closer to an MMO. My feeling is if you want to make combat feel more dynamic and fluid then go all the way and make this a full-fledged action game or stick with the traditional turn-based format, don't half-ass it and make a hybrid that doesn't do either one well.
I turned it off and had no desire to ever get back into it which made me pretty sad. I was really into the FF series so it felt like the end of an era.
