My Collection

This is my collection of video games. Included are stories about what I thought about the games and whatnot. The games are sorted by the release of the console and then alphabetically. Many of them won't have interesting stories as I haven't played a lot, but when I do get around to playing a game I'll update the description.

List items

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Cool story about this one, I actually rented this game when I was younger from Blockbuster for the SNES. Then a handful of years ago when the KB Toys in our local mall was closing they had a stack of like 50 copies of this game for the Genesis for $2.50... sealed. I bought a copy to keep sealed and another to play. Needless to say it's a really good game.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Man this game is tough and not that good. I love Garfield but this game really isn't worth it.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Again another shooter for the Genesis and again another pretty cool one; haven't beat it though.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Found this (complete with the harder to find second player gun!) in a podunk store selling collectibles. Picked it up for ten dollars!

  • Have it complete for the Genesis, minus the manual. Picked this up in late summer 2011 at a flea market for a dollar. I've heard good things.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Played a bit when I got it but didn't get very far. Really wanting to go and play this, will finish this eventually.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Never been too into the early Sonic games although I first played them on the Gamecube. This is probably my favorite of the first three, haven't beat it and probably won't unless I get the XBLA version for achievements.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis, minus the manual. My friend found this and didn't want it so he gave it to me today, November 19, 2009. Haven't played it yet but I do have an old strategy guide for it and I plan on buying the manual right now.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Bought this in the summer of 2011 and played a stage with a friend and wasn't very impressed with it.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Haven't played this yet but definitely will. Haven't had much exposure to anything Star Trek related and this game looks pretty good as well.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Having complete Streets of Rage on the 6-Pak with a friend, we moved onto this. Streets of Rage 2 is a phenomenal game.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Knew this game was hard to find and pretty expensive but I found a complete copy at a local game store in the summer of 2011 and snapped it up. My friend and I were very into beat 'em ups around this time having just experienced Streets of Rage 2.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Played this for a couple minutes to get some info for the page here. Will play it some more but dunno if I'll beat it.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Haven't played this yet but this looks promising. Looks a lot like Super Punch-Out!!, haven't played that but have played the original and I really enjoyed my time with that.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Played this a bit but haven't put much time into it. Will do so in the future but probably won't beat it.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Haven't played this yet but will. Sorry for all these boring descriptions so far, it'll get better with newer games.

  • Have it complete for the Genesis. Bought this in the summer of 2011 looking for a co-op beat 'em up and was disappointed with it's quality. It did come with a radical poster of the X-Men though.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. Love this game, can still remember renting this from Blockbuster when I was very young. Haven't beaten it but will someday. Love playing it with my sister, even she has fond memories of it.

  • Have it complete for the SNES. Another game I grew up on. Have played this tons although haven't beaten it. Might try one day but I'm not really feeling the need to.

  • Have it complete for the SNES. Bought this January 11, 2010 (today) and as a result haven't had a chance to play it yet, looks pretty fun though. I played this starting February 19, 2010 and I like it, it's very hard and requires a lot of memorization. I'm able to get to the final boss with full lives but can't beat him. I wrote the page here on GB and it's super detailed as well as an entry about it on my blog, please check them out. Thought there might be some connection between this and Earth Defense Force 2017 but I guess not.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. Bought this a few years ago and played it a bit, not a lot really. Fun game and I love F-Zero GX but I suppose I've never been one for Mode 7 graphics.

  • Have it complete for the SNES. Mom bought this for me when I was young, she liked the show and as a result from watching it all the time I like the show. Fun game but haven't played it too much since those days back then. Actually e-mailed Rob Humble, who works at EA now, to make sure he was the same person who worked on this game, entering credits into the game's page and wanted to be sure.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. Remember renting this when I was younger from Blockbuster, probably my introduction to sports games. I loved collecting baseball cards and this was probably one of the factors that made me like Ken Griffey Jr., liked the game as well.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. MY first video game! This came packed in with the SNES I got for Christmas, once my mom found out that it had blood and violence in it, she wasn't fond of it; still can remember playing it with my uncle on Christmas day. Never was very good at it (my sister can smoke me) but haven a fondness for it.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. One of my favorite games when I was younger; used to rent this multiple times from Blockbuster. When they stopped carrying SNES games I was out of luck, finally got a copy at my local nerd store in 2008 and haven't played it much sadly. I know I could've gotten it sooner by looking online, but "finding" a game is much more fun. Both my sister and I have fond memories of this, need to go back and beat it.

  • Have it complete for the SNES. Bought this is 2008 and played it a bit but haven't completed it yet, definitely will.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. Haven't played this more than once; never was into the MK games and probably won't get into them until I play some multiplayer.

  • Have it complete for the SNES and on XBLA. My mom has always talked about how she played this in the arcades back in the day and this was one of the first games she bought for the SNES. Played this all the time when I was young and can still play it now, even my mom will every now and then.

  • Have it complete for the SNES and N64. Another of my favorite games from my youth. Played the SNES version all the time and pretty recently found an N64 copy and played that a bit.

  • Have it complete for the SNES. Bought this with NBA Give 'n Go. Played it for five or so levels, didn't think it was that great but still seems interesting enough to try and beat it sometime.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. Always heard about how bad this game was and finally bought a copy and can now concur. The game is funny, poor Aerosmith, at least they got some redemption with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.

  • Have it complete for the SNES. I actually purchased this without the manual and map (to my dismay) but I did use a half-off coupon! My thoughts: http://mybrainongames.com/2011/09/28/soul-blazer-review/

  • Have it complete for the SNES. Another game my mom bought. Played this a lot when I was younger, quite boring but the game has a lot of diversity, don't think I've ever played through to the third level. Thinking about it now, I played a lot of "classics" when I was younger.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. Bought this for a buck along with Street Fighter II Turbo at a garage sale around 2006. Never liked it too much although I have played through on the easy difficulty, might tough it out eventually.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. Read Star Fox to see how I got it. The only SF game I have although I really want to get SFIV, the only thing holding me back? Never really cared for the series, like Mortal Kombat I need to do some multiplayer to like it.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. Four Mario games! Four Mario games with better graphics! Yes please, bought this around 2006.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. My first RPG, rented this a few times from Blockbuster back in the day, never got far when I was a kid but I remember not knowing what to do next so I prayed to God really hard and got unstuck. Remember telling my mom about it and her saying I shouldn't ask God for stuff like that.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. Never played this version much as I had the GBA port before I got this. One of my favorite games, beat the game, did nearly all of the secret stuff, really ate this game up.

  • Have it complete for the SNES and for the Super Famicom. Bought this in late summer 2009 and played through about half while making graph paper maps, but lost interest and really need to get back into it. Bought the Super Famicom copy soon after buying the SNES version because it was pretty cheap and thought it's be cool to have.

  • Have it complete for the SNES. Another game from my childhood; have only gotten about halfway as I always get stuck. Haven't tried playing through it in a few years so I bet I could do it now.

  • Have it loose for the SNES. Another game from my childhood, love the music but haven't played it much in recent years, really need to.

  • Have it complete for the SNES. Probably my first racing game, love this game. Haven't finished it, at least I don't think I have. I might've when I was younger and forgotten.

  • Have it complete for the SNES. First played this in Animal Crossing and found me a copy later. Pretty fun game, can't remember much about it right now, need to go play it some more.

  • Have it complete for the SNES. Read Family.

  • Have it complete for the SNES. Bought this in late summer 2009 as it was only $1 on eBay.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Haven't played this yet but have heard bad things, but it's also Batman.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Man, in the early-mid nineties there were a lot of first-person mech games. This one seems kinda cool but the one time I played it, didn't like it too much.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Bought this April 28, 2010 and have looked forward to playing this but it might be disappointing on the Sega CD.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Oddly I liked this game pretty good although the first level in which you ski/snowboard down the mountain is very hard. Will play it again, whether or not I beat it is another story.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. FMV games here we come. This is not a good game, at points it may be funny, but it is in no way fun.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Bought this in late summer 2009 off of eBay for $15-ish. Have only played the first mission and I like it, but not as much as I hoped I would. I'd like to beat it but it is quite complicated and very dated.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. This is pretty good as far as FMV games go. It has a Corey, haven't beat it though.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Haven't played this yet.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Played this for about an hour, I didn't like it.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Haven't played it yet.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Haven't played this yet as it requires a 32X and I don't have one.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Liked this, I'm into these old racing games from this viewpoint as I played lots of Top Gear as a child. This game moves at a very fast point (as it's F1) and it is really good, happily surprised by it.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Haven't played this yet but have heard a lot about it when people talk about the Sega CD or FMV games.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Haven't played this yet.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Played this once and don't remember what I thought of it.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Of course I like this, who doesn't like making music videos with crappy images that rarely relate to the music; oh terrible processing power as well.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Purchased this May 9, 2011 and had no intentions of playing through it. However a friend and I played through it a few days later and I really enjoyed this creepy game. My thoughts: http://mybrainongames.com/2011/05/19/mansion-of-hidden-souls-review/

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Weird that this was released for the Sega CD only as a bundle. Might've played this but could be confusing it with Dracula Unleashed.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. This is a weird game, especially the host. The premise is that of a game show, sort of a survivor take all in a future death race type deal.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. After Doom and the popularization of first-person games, everyone was trying it. Cool game, just is held back by technology of the time. Great manual but don't really enjoy the game.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Another FMV game that requires memorization. Funny game but not good.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. One of my (few) favorite Sega CD games, probably due to idolizing the Power Rangers during my childhood. Actually though the game works well with the limitations enforced by the Sega CD. The action is quick and simple, it's essentially a rhythm game. The game is very short too, only thirty-ish minutes or longer depending on the difficulty.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Actually forgot I have this as it is sealed. I've always played NBA Hangtime and never NBA Jam so it'd be interesting to play it.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Played this once but only to check out the wicked video that some programmer apparently hid in it, totally weird; first read about it in the 100th issue of Tips & Tricks.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Haven't played this yet as I though it was sealed but then realized it is just the shrink wrap from the store I bought it from.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Haven't played this yet as I have the Sega CD 32X version and need the add-on to play it; heard tons about the game though.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Another music video making game, YES!

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Haven't given this a shot yet but am interested in doing it, even if RTS's aren't my thing. The only other Bullfrog game I've played is Populous in high school, loved it but didn't understand it's importance then.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. The only other PoP game I've played is Battles on the DS so am interested in this although I hope this is a good version.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. This game is impossible, haven't even beaten a fighter. Think it's one of the better shot FMV games on the console but this type of game play doesn't fit with FMV.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Have played this but don't remember it, pretty interesting; it's essentially Mario Kart with jets.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Didn't know this was an adventure game and was blown away when I first popped it in. Haven't finished it yet but after reading up on it I hear it's only a few hours so it's pretty high on my list of Sega CD games to play.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. This is a fun game, have played the Genesis version a bit but have played more of the Sega CD version. Cool music but the game shows its age, still fun.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Don't remember "playing" this, could be cool but I bet the technology holds it back.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Have this as a bundle with the Sega Classics Arcade Collection; don't remember playing this but have played the Arcade games.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Yeah! Always loved the Silpheed games before playing them; for some reason I built up this aura around them. This game is okay but I bet it was crazy playing it back in the day with polygons; haven't beat it but have gotten pretty far, will someday.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. One of my favorite Sega CD games. Haven't progressed very far but I still really like it, will beat it someday.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. This is pretty bad, the game has to load every time two pieces "battle" and the battle scenes are terribly drawn/animated but they can produce some funny moments like C-3PO beating up Darth Vader, but they're really only funny once and then they get obnoxious.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Have played this to write some about it but don't remember the game off hand, maybe it's a first-person mech game?

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Another "great" FMV game; may try beating this game and at the very least I'll play it again. Thinking about it now though this is one of my least favorite FMV games.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Have played this for a few minutes but don't remember anything, looking at the screenshots it could be kinda good, like a first-person "Strike" game.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Another dumb FMV game. They're really all the same, nobody tried to innovate, they are all just movie scenes with timed button presses but then again I suppose there isn't much you could do with FMV.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Played this once with a friend and didn't find it that great. The FMV wasn't good (as to be expected) and if I'm remembering correctly, the load times are awful. My thoughts: http://mybrainongames.com/2011/08/05/wheel-of-fortune-review/

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. The first Sega CD game I played. I bought the Sega CD at a local nerd store when I saw they had one. I'd always wanted one to play all these terrible FMV games I had heard about. Took it home and plugged everything in and it didn't work! So me and my friend started playing another console and a few hours later came back and tried it and it did work, turns out we just weren't waiting long enough for a game to load, I think. Anyways the game is nigh unplayable past a certain point, on the Sega CD at least. It runs terribly but we had a fun time playing it until we couldn't progress any further.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. Haven't played this yet and have never played a Wing Commander game before. Probably shouldn't play it on the Sega CD as I'm sure it is not the best version.

  • Have it complete for the Sega CD. One of my favorite Sega CD games and what I think is one of the better FMC games on the console. It's not great but at least the story is completely ridiculous, oh and that's the guy from those Stride commercials!

  • Have it complete for the Saturn. Bought this for $0.99 a long time ago and have only played it recently with a friend right after he purchased a Sega Saturn.

  • Have it complete for the PS1. Love first-person shooters and read about this in an old game magazine I had and found a copy. I haven't played the game in a few years and remember it to be not that great, but I do want to play it some more.

  • Have it complete for the PS1. Played this a bit and didn't like it much as I'm not one for the early polygonal games.

  • Have it complete for the PS1. Haven't played this yet but looks interesting, especially coming from Natsume.

  • Have it complete for the PS1. Haven't played this yet but it could be pretty good since it came out late in the PS1's life cycle so the developer knew the system well.

  • Have it complete for the PS1. Only played this once, played some versus with a friend and it was okay.

  • Have it complete for the PS1. Haven't played this yet and don't have high expectations for it.

  • Have it complete for the PS1. One of my first PS1 games if I'm not mistaken. I remember not liking it much and thinking the controls were kinda bad but that was some years ago and I don't think I played it for very long.

  • Have it complete for the PS1. Haven't played this yet but seeing how it's a Diablo clone, I might enjoy it.
