E3 2010 Most Anticipated Games

Some of these we knew about going in, some where expected, some where total surprises. Either way, these are the top 5 games I'm most looking forward to playing that have been shown at this years E3.

The Last Guardian would be at the top of my list, but they haven't shown anything at this years E3. I'm guessing they're holding it for TGS

  • I had a feeling we were going to get this going into the show, but by the time they revealed it, I had forgotten my suspicions, and this was a genuine surprise. I LOVED TM1, TM2, and TM: Black. I don't know how this style of game will hold up in today's market, as it's been a while since we've seen a Twisted Metal game on a console, but I'm excited to find out.

  • I've had some reservations about this, worried that it would be a thematic departure for the franchise, but my skepticism is waning after seeing more from this game. Metroid Prime made me eventually buy a Game Cube. This could be the game that makes me buy a Wii.

  • As a child who grew up playing his NES, SNES, and Gameboy, I have a real soft spot for retro gaming and solid platformers. This looks like a unique take on the Kirby platforming I loved so much on the original Gameboy. The graphics look good and it has a really interesting visual style. My own worry is in the challenge department - but then again, even as a 9 year old, I could beat Kirby's Dream Land in one sitting. Hmmm...

  • I'm very interested in seeing more from this. The graphical style looks good, the platforming looks fun, and the gameplay seems interesting. The Disney games have often made great platformers on the NES and SNES, so we'll see if this is a return to that era of Disney games.

  • I was really excited when I heard this get announced as I loved the original series on SNES. However, it does seem like it's just more Donkey Kong Country, without really adding very much (and not having the same iconic graphical style). I still have my SNES hooked up and I own DKC 1 and 2, so we'll see if this is in fact worth playing.
